Chinese are straight forward, hard working and believe in their own development in all spheres. And it is a large country with a large population, well educated and striving to be better. I saw this when I went in 1999, long before china stood up to its potential.But it had started.

China is fascinating and China's people are amazing. My personal experience is from several of China's provinces including Taiwan. The only rule one needs to grasp is respect for their culture. If this is genuine, then China is superb in many aspects.

I grew up in the empire. While some of our infrastructure and production (as a result of our standard of living) IS impressive, increasingly I am feeling that we are mostly increasing our narrative creation powers. And that our actual capabilities as a people are diminishing. We do not want to be proud Americans working for America to make America better, we just define ourselves in contrast to imagined enemies. And the narrative environment we occupy is just a ideological bubble that not only misrepresents the rest of the world, but also simultaneously keeps us ignorant as to the true nature of the rest of the world which will sharply harm us in the multipolar future to come. Being uncultured, lacking nuance and being lazy looks a lot different when you aren’t the big schoolyard bully but actually just another normal kid on the block. The other kids are gonna think we are weak fools.

Excellent discussion, as always. The current situation re. Canadian PM Trudeau's decision to resign is not novel. In June 1993, Brian Mulroney resigned as PM and head of the conservative party; Kim Campbell was selected to lead the party that same month and served as PM until the federal election in November 1993.

So if the USD is the world's reserve currency, how can the US economy than look inward and isolate itself from the world's economy? Does it even make sense? Isnt this a paradox? The US needs to be an engine of the world's economy and be able to print itself to prosperity primarily because it is the world's reserve currency, but because it doesnt exercise financial prudence and instead use the printing press as an unlimited source of financial drug to solve all its problems overseas instead of looking towards how to uplift and develop their own people! So the US system is to attract immigrants like Elon Musk to be the unicorns and even Elon Musk thinks this way to have the worlds talent drive the US Corporate engine.... Such a system and thinking isnt balance, as their own people and society falls further the economic ladder and u than get the world's best talent that is why u have homelessness and lawlessness integrating the US society its a pile of rottening corpse that is internally consuming the US society and one day the people will realize this sooner than later.
@Awakening_Richard14 күн бұрын
Complicated question. Philosophically speaking, a reserve currency function this way is too much for one individual state to manage, human being, individually or collectively. Ultimately the system automatically lead to the "hunger game" movie scenario in which the currency issuing state has to micro manage the entire planet, and in the movie, it eventually divided into zones and you have a state level apartheid system, which lead to rebellion.
