The Plug N Play ironically is the only Thomas game I have ever played, and to finally see someone recognize its greatness makes me so happy. My favorite minigame was the Brendam Docks cargo game, the music is arguably my favorite soundtrack out of the whole game. I remember seeing the green tickets and they always reminded me of those lime flavored popsicles. This was a fun video to watch as always, and hope you have a great day.

One more modern game I'm oddly fond of is "Magic Tracks" on the App Store. It first came out in the late T&F era and had characters and designs to match. When AEG came out, they updated the game with the new art style and a changed character roster, which I would say is a shame, but aside from Mark Moraghan's narration being replaced by AEG actors, it kind of works for the best in this case, as the previous version messed up a lot of wheel, piston and connecting rod configurations anyway, so a style that doesn't have _any_ connecting rods or pistons allows them to not make that mistake. Its a cute little game. You have mostly free reign to explore the island and complete minigames; the more you do, the more you unlock extra locations and minigames - and they have quite a wide range of locations, including the water wheel from the classic era intro sequence, and even some RWS locations like the Standing Stones, and Cranky has his own minigame like in Right on Time. Its far from perfect though; tender engines seem to lose their tenders in certain minigames for some reason, and the biggest issue is the microtransactions; to get all the characters and locations, I think its over £20.00GBP or your regional equivalent. As quaint as the game is, its not really worth quite that much.

Had to replace the batteries and cleanse it of the dried battery acid (batteries had been left in there for over a decade, thing went unused for a very long time) And to be honest, I didn't think it was going to work. But it did! And in perfect condition too. Still surprised by it. I played it for a good 40 minutes, then turned it off. May get back on there and continue playing later on today, now that I've watched your video 🚂

The Game Boy Color version was only in Japanese, and resembled Pokémon Gold & Sliver, but had cute bits like shunting Henry through a tunnel without getting rained on, falling off the viaduct upon losing or whistling on the map to find Bertie, Harold or the others. It might resemble an RPG to some, the objective is to complete 5 stories and a guidebook of all of the Season 1-3 characters.

As a child, I owned a few Thomas titles. The first was an interactive computer that was filled to the brim with mini games (educational, might I add though.) I remember my favourite minigame was the one where you had to guide Spencer out of a maze and one that comes to mind as well is the tunnel minigame with Percy. Aside from that, I've played both the PC-ROM titles, Trouble on the Tracks and Thomas' Grand Adventure, as well as Hero of The Rails on Wii. :D Oh, and I've also played the mobile games too. (And... spent a decent portion of cash to unlock the engines.)

Hm... I've probably seen these ones, but I also remember some other different Thomas games from about ten years ago, though I don't remember their names. One of them from a DVD (I think) that was tied with a collection of HIT-era episodes, and it looked like an early version of the CGI-era (which I found pretty funny since, as Thomas traveled during cutscenes, he'd move like he's sliding across the tracks with his wheels going slower than expected). One of the minigames that came with that was trying to send some troublesome trucks onto a siding by timing the switching of the points. It also had a pretty nice ending cutscene where most of the engines were celebrating something in Knapford Station. Another game that I remember was one that came with the DVD for "Hero of the Rails;" you basically had to race Thomas to be faster than Spencer, while making sure that his coal, water, and pressure were alright. It was also somewhat comical because both engines were basically stock photos of their CGI selves giving you the neutral smile the whole time, while the wheels were actually animated. Oh, and I think it just played a short version of Gordon's HIT-era theme every time it cut to them to see if one overtook the other or not.

Thomas console game concept: It’s an Island of Sodor simulation, probably even open world. There’d be two modes; learning and adventure. Learning mode would basically be like the CD ROM games from the 2000’s, but much better paced. Adventure mode would be open world. The Fat Controller would give you quests such as delivering specials, rescuing engines, shunting, etc. As you progress, you’d unlock locations like the mainland, china, Australia, India, etc. In those locations, you could explore the map and as you find landmarks parts of the location map would form. You can even upgrade your engine’s stats, like speed. You could even make your own engine. Side characters would ask for you to do something for them and after you complete their instructions they’d reward you with different engine decorations/trophies. Most of this is inspired by Sonic Fronteirs, a really good game that id recommend.
@swiftengine2 жыл бұрын
Not to mention that you can also pick story modes, which follow the mainline Thomas movies like SLOTLT, Magic Railroad, Great Race, etc. Basically like Hero of the Rails Wii.

I used to play the Plug n Play one a lot as a child. Just going around sodor completing different tasks was super fun. Plus the soundtrack they composed for it is so fuckin good for a thomas game. They didn't have to go so hard with it but they did and I love it (Brendam Docks' theme has to be my favorite of the bunch). Honestly if possible, I would love to see someone remaster this soundtrack (or at least covers of the songs in style of the series' music), because it's super underrated tbh. I actually still have the console sitting in a drawer somewhere, and funnily enough it still works surprisingly. That's more that can be said than the other plug n play games I had growing up. There was also a Konami one I had that also works, and a Disney one that kinda works, but the picture shits the bed after like 2 minutes.

There were 2 Thomas games that made up my childhood. While none of them were mentioned, one was the well-known Hero of the Rails’ game for the DS/ Wii and… a Japanese dubbed Thomas game where it had minigames of Percy running from the boulder, a Cranky claw machine game to get collectibles etc, 4 yr old me had a blast playing the latter despite the language barrier. Anyone knows what that game and the minigames within were, let me know
