I know for a fact Wilbert said, when one time this guy had an idea of making thomas an animated musical back in the 70’s and Wilbert said and I quote “Once the Americans get a hold of thomas, it WILL go downhill” I can safely say he was right but at the same time I feel offended lol

Ooop just walking home from work and now I have something to watch when I am home! Edit: now I have watched it, I’ll answer your question first; I think Thomas would still have been a hit considering it was based off the RWS but the models and sets alone make Thomas the show it is today. It definitely helped to say the least as a kid I thought they where real engines, it was filmed on the Isle of Man& used wooden people for safety measures😂 so you see how it can work in a child’s mind. I’m glad I did as always. Another great reaction video☺️✨

I think for me the ONE thing that both thomas and my little pony G4 have in common…is their both kids shows that don’t play dumb or talk down to their audience…maybe sometimes but not all the time, and adults can enjoy these things still, if you’re the kind of person who doesn’t want to let go of their childhoods or from a brony point of view you see something that looks silly and childish as an adult but you get enjoyment juice out of it and you’re satisfied to the bone, HECK even shining time station and tugs didn’t capture the same charm as thomas but are still liked none the less LOL and the later seasons of thomas where I guess they got fast paced but still manage to hold decent stories to get you excited, do I also need to mention magic railroad? lol

Hey if it wasn’t for the thomas toys, we wouldn’t be able to remake our childhoods with them lol or make our own stories for that matter, yes you got trainz but still, and yes mattel had turn it into a toy thing but back then their was a reason for it, especially the trackmaster versions…yes even the Mattel versions pre AEG, I mean I had to get their new gordon I used before cause I couldn’t find my tomy one lol

The lighting in series 1 looks so doll when your only looking for the restored versions. The original has a reddish tint to it and this version didn’t do that at all. You can find the original lighting on older KZbin channels but you have to deal with the resolution.

What would Thomas look like animated in the mid 80's? For some reason, I immediately think of the 90s animated film The Little Engine That Could, with the expressive animation for the trains, yet they still do train things instead of the bat crap crazy stuff AEG does

Am I the only one who thinks that the music was actually BETTER in Seasons 1 and 2? THe engines' themes I think really excelled the most when they were heavily synth-y. There was also much stronger use of percussion, like for Henry's and Toby's themes. Starting with season 3, the existing engines' themes got more watered down and the instrumentation sounded really generic to me. Harold's theme suffered greatly when it was stripped of it's Superman-esque synthesizer that you heard in Season 2. However, for the NEW characters who were introduced starting in Season 3, like Oliver and Mavis, their theme songs really deliverered! If only the synthesizer music had stuck around longer
