I just love how he isn't content with playing the simple pass. He pushes himself to always attempt the line breaking pass,the high risk high reward option. I'd rather those who try and fail than those who fail because they didn't try

It's about knowing when you can do it. Like you said, there is a high risk so you can't always do that. But usually if you carry the ball as far you are not pressed again after you escaped first wave of pressing players, just before they catch you again you probably see the pockets to your teams runners. Partey is good at this so he is allowed start the transition in counter attack.

@Luke Campbell I hope you're right. I have no incentive for him not to do well. I just think fans Overhype him a lot while he has not done much at all. Only After Smith rowe and odegaard came in we won most of our games and pepe finally got unlocked. The best players were: luiz, xhaka, pepe, laca, Tierney and saka (he was not great in second half and I think he's Overhyped too but he did great at England so I hope I'm wrong). We relied a lot on auba and partey and they let us down. I genuinely wish the best for them this season, I'm just not going to pretend they were this amazing players. After all, we placed 8th for reasons. Aubameyang was my favorite player two seasons ago. Now he's terrible. If I had to choose, i want him back in form. He's the best striker in league.

Such a beautiful player to watch when he is on form. We really need two more CMs to help him out. One that is good defensively, physical and can distribute and another with good ball-retention and ability in the final third. This will relieve a lot of the pressure on Partey trying to be a do it all midfielder. His shooting technique from distance needs work and he can be a bit too casual with his execution at times. Also we need a starting quality RB, back-up LB and another attacker (In case Auba keeps declining, plus we can't rely on Laca and Pepe to be consistent all season long).

I think his best quality is his timing... Whether it's tackling, escaping the press or a forward pass. He brings a sense of calm into the build up play and you can see how he always knows the next pocket of space that Smith-Rowe will pick up. He's a class player and hopefully he gets better

funnily enough this video highlights the role I think ben white will play if/when he signs. he'll be the inverted RB/CM that teta had bellerin playing. thomas played a lot of hard low balls bypassing the midfield to that area where bellerin would pick it up but ben's a lot better on the ball so I think it'll work really well.

I’m much happier seeing Sambi and Thomas together than Xhaka and elneny. That majority of class between the two pairings is so big that I can honesty look at 3/4 of the clips and easily say elneny will never do that ever in a game. Same goes for Granit. Let’s just hope the Chelsea injury was a one off and him and Sambi can stick and gel together. @@kontil234 I don't think CB was the problem last season. Arsenal was the 5th or 6th team with the most clean sheets and the 3rd best defence in terms of goals conceded last season. I think it is the Central and defensive midfield that needs priority attention. Also Tierney needs a decent back up left back especially considering his constant injuries.
