I thought so too . He had the skills , athleticism & motor I think much like with Okafor - once one team sells low on you while being relatively new to the league - it impacts how other teams view your worth. They almost automatically assume no team would cut or trade a guy that's a top 5 pick if we was actually as advertised. So I think that's what did him in , lack of coaching consistency , lack of teammate chemistry , and lack of proper development cuz he stock dropped so low being sold off & moved for nothing. Say he started his career with the Warriors as most a small ball center - the perception would of been totally different than it ended up being. Bigs even marginal bigs flourish with the Warriors system.

It’s called potential if it’s tapped into
@aisosaobano703812 күн бұрын
For every 5 players like him there’s one who has the potential tapped into. The issue is that’s a slim margin and teams constant try their luck at it even if the success rate is low. 😅
@barleymepodcast230111 күн бұрын
Rebounding is a transferable skill historically. And you can’t always teach motor. The thought was, he’s teachable, he’ll try, and in the meantime he’ll gobble up boards and make energy plays til his skill set rounds out. Then he got drafted by the Kings at a time when they made everyone on their team worse somehow.
