What's crazy is he was a Volume Shooter but became more of a facilitator in Detroit and also more in control of his play before that injury. Had he not gotten injured with the talent they had in Detroit at the time who knows man. He was heading into Jason Whit Chocolate Williams territory that run in Detroit.....from a flashy risk taker to a savvy Floor General that could score when needed to.

I remember as a young kid following a group of jordan brand athletes and somehow gravitated towards jennings. He skipped the traditional ncaa route and was drafted eventually drafted. I'm a huge Bucks fan, born & raised in Milwaukee. So, I'm sure I probably paid more attention to Jennings' career than the average fan (which most probably just watched highlights & stats). The guy was really not that great, he's basically what you get if you bring a street baller into the NBA, he plays like a street baller, he'll get nice highlights here & there, stats, etc., but his IQ was so bad, chucked up a lot of bad shots/poor shot selection, very inconsistent, low-efficiency, never learned how to finish with his off-hand, only shot above 40% twice for a season during his career, that's terrible. People say he was ballin before his Achilles tear, he was not, go back & look at the game logs. In 4 games during that span of a week to his Achilles tear, the first game he put up 10pts 6ast 4to's on 3-9 shooting, the 2nd game he put up 7pts 5ast 3to's on 1-10 shooting, the 3rd game he went off & put up 24pts 21ast 2to's on 10-21 shooting, & then the game where he got hurt he put up 16pts 4ast 5to's on 6-14 shooting. I mean if you consider one good game to be "Ballin" then I guess, but he really wasn't doing much that year, all his stats during his time with the Bucks were better than his Pistons years. Us Milwaukee fans were excited from his rookie year, because he had a great year for a rookie. The game this video mentioned against Billups, he did amazing. And then he followed that up with the 55pt game, helped lead us to the playoffs that year. If Bogut didn't break his arm that year, we probably would've done better, without him we took the 3rd seeded Hawks to 7 games. Us Bucks fans were excited for the future after Jennings' rookie year, but unfortunately, he just never got better. And then towards the end of his stint in Milwaukee, he started bad mouthing us, saying Milwaukee is the reason he can't become an Allstar, it's not a big enough market, all that bs. But after we won the chip in 2021, he came back to Milwaukee & celebrated with the team like a fanboy. I mean if you're really that good, you would become an Allstar / great player regardless of where you play. Jennings was blaming Milwaukee, but Giannis was able to do all that & more in Milwaukee.

The only honest assessment i've seen of brandon jennings. People get mesmerized by that 55pt game and act like he had HOF potential had he not dealt with injuries, but the reality is that like you said he was just another high school phenom whose game really didn't translate in the NBA. He shot under 40% from the field for 7 out of his 9 seasons...

My friend I roofed houses with, asked me if I played basketball, I said yeah, bro went on to tell me he was so good that a prep team in the states wanted him to go play for them for his last two years of high school, he ended up playing Brandon and says he locked him up, but then the second half came around and he says he was hitting some of the most impossible shots on him, I asked his age and what years he played high school and it all added up. He sent a friend request because he’s older and his cover photo was of him dunking over 3 people lol he was only like 6’3 though and he’s a black dude from Alberta Canada, he played at a university on the east coast. 2:38 This is the biggest stretch ive heard in my life. Peak Harden??? Peak hard was 40 point triple doubles for a weak straight. Not a random one off game with 32, 11, and 4. That was a bad game for harden in his prime lmao. Growing up watching Jennings he was definitely cold but he wasnt no allstar or anything. He peaked as a rookie and was an after though every year after that bc he was real solid, but not turning any heads. Comparison to prime harden because he had one 30 point game is insane lmao

Lightin Up!!!!… If this Guy was LBJ’s Son We would be saying “He got a Raw Deal” when He was in The League… Even though We could see BJ potential, It seems as if No Team ever Structured Their Team around His Talents… So They sent Him on more Journeys having to Prove Himself all over again … That will take a Toll on You Mentally and Physically… I Respect BJ because He Literally Bet on Himself and made it to The NBA… He wasn’t given anything He took His Opportunity… The League is about Politics and I don’t think BJ hung out in The Celebrity Circles in The League ( He wasn’t a Ass Kisser ) .. We can talk about His Efficiency all We want but Do We say that about Bronny Jr.???… Would We put Him on Brandon Jennings level ???.. No, We make excuses for Him… Even though Brandon never went to College, He went Over Seas to bet on Himself and made it The right way not off the Hype …Shame on Yall , For judging Brandon about His Shot selection when We all knew Milwaukee had Trash Players surrounding Him so He had to shoot where as Bronny Jr. even with a Green Light cannot give You Scoring like Brandon Even though Brandon was Younger, Same Height it’s just Brandon’s Father didn’t Run The League… You Critics are Pitiful and it shows Yall are Casuals that don’t know how NBA Politics works…💯 One Guy had to start from Nothing and Show His work and One Guy has a Silver Spoon and is Nowhere near the caliber of Player Brandon was at His Age.

Brandon was a great highschool player and an average NBA player at best. He was Jeremy Lin before Jeremy Lin. Meaning he had a couple of hot weeks in the beginning of his rookie season and for the rest of the season he was average at best. He finished his rookie season shooting 37% and for his career he never shot over 41%. He was an average NBA player with a lot of highschool aka KZbin hype.

Yeah, I'm a Bucks fan, born & raised in Milwaukee. People hype Jennings up because he occasionally has nice highlights & good games every once in a while. He was really not that great though. Even if he didn't get injured, he would not have become some top player. He's like what you would get if you bring a street baller into the NBA.

Good player, yes. Potential to be great, yes. Great player no. He like McCants, although not nearly as much, tends to point the finger at everbody else as to why his career didn't pan out. And also has a tiny bit of envy when talking about other players. Hell he even takes shots at Gil who was clearly HIM for a time.

They never build a good team around Jennings, we can see a night and day difference in build around them.
