The TOMY Thomas & Friends Big Loader set is a well known classic toy which many children around the world have enjoyed. Watch out as there is a cheap and nasty knock off version of this toy and it's loaded with dark side trouble.
Fake toys were purchased from stores in Sydney's western suburbs markets.
The real toy is still available today but watch out the pricing is pretty wild, I have seen some online vendors asking as much as $200 for this simple toy train set.

the best part for me is now I own a real big and BIG BIG loader set, mind you the little power trucks needed repairs as a Thomas collector having the big loader set is really important as it's one of the classic toys in the franchise

I've seen an even WORSE knock-off version. The plastic is much cheaper, and becuase the engines don't have faces on these models, it's not sold under the Thomas range. (Weird, huh?)

looking around on the web the pricing for vintage sets is pretty wild, the question is are people spending over $200 for a classic mint condition Big Loader set It's very clear loads of people have this set BUT also have pieces missing Hey I love your recent works, it's nice to see one of the old timers here still producing top quality stuff

when I look at the BIG BIG loader knock off you will possibly see why the lorry is in both sets, as I have found knock off toy builders tend to be VERY LAZY, they only ever offer up the bare minimum making a Terrence would be far too much work for them to deal with

I'm not suprised that people would make copies of Thomas toys. I had the real big loader set as a child and I could see the different. I think plastic surgery is big business on Sodor. I also notice in my local market a toy stand which sell lots of Thomas fake toys. In fact I got my Transformable Thomas toy from that stand and I think it is an addition to the Thomas Dark Side and have decided to with draw them from your contest. I only has the video of my Gold, Silver, Shiny and Rat aresd Thomas

It's likely that the knockoff Big Loader had a design flaw where a gear that spins the gear that's used on the track section that uses gear teeth is missing

I have this set but I have lost the parts over the years. I'm considering buying the Copy product to see the Evil of it also. I'm wanting more to get the Big Bignloader copy instead but until you post the review I'm going to wait. I have the macoy Terence and Lorry but sadly don't have Thomas or Percy anymore.

Superb video as always, when I was about 7 years old, my mother sent a drawing an a photo of me to the British Thomas The Tank Engine magazine and in return my picture was published and I received the original Tomy set featured in this video, Before I moved out my I told my mam to give it away to charity. Me and my little cousin used to play with a set using the same set up. It wasn't Thomas themed, rather just generally construction themed. I am however certain it was an actual item released by Tomy(likely before the Thomas license). I remember sitting there for what felt like hours on end, absolutely mesmerized by the clockwork precision it displayed. It was so unique and unmatched by any other 'Guinness' toy out there.

The detailed look inside the "engine" reminded me that A STRANGE PLASTIC PART came out of my engine when I took out the 3 screws. It is white, like the white reverse-direction switch; and it has a hole for a fulcrum. But I could not find a place nor a function for this "part." While the dis-inclusion of Terrence is very disappointing, I find the replacement, the Lorry, to be rather creative by the knockoff-maker's part. Still, the bad aspects of this set outnumber the good(Percy's face on the faker is just like Thomas'! Yikes!), especially the fact that it's a knockoff. I used to see these somewhere, maybe at an old friends house, and enjoyed watching the trains go around enormously.

Ah, I remember having this toy when I was little. I think it might still be in my basement somewhere.. It acted up a few times for me, but not nearly as often as your knockoff seemed to. I was surprised when you improved the performance of the knockoff just by switching out the powercar. Finite pleasure, I am disappoint
