Oh god. This is the actual first Time I am traveling since I have really long hair. Usually I untie it like 12h per day. With planes, no sleep and then falling asleep without untiying, I was horrifyied when the elastic was so stuck around my curly hair. My first true "abhhhhhhhhvv!" In front of the mirror with a tangled ball of fallen hair starting a dread. It was also si dry! Looked like I left a wig or two inside of the shower. But we loose et least 100hair a Day. Imagine how it looks like 200 or 300 hundred hair 40cm long suddenly released of the knot (After a fierce fight!😂) My advice : never neglict beauty while backpacking!😱🙆

Yes you can experience permanent hair loss from excessive strain on hair follicles which can be the result of wearing a tight man bun for a prolonged period of time. It’s called traction alopecia and can be experienced by men and women alike

Thomas you should keep your hair in a bun all day and brush your hair at night to see how much hair you lost that day. I think it would be a good video idea, also I lose about 150 hairs throughout the day when I keep my hair in a bun all day. Should I be concerned??

Hello Thomas, quick question. I keep my hair in a bun from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed. Put it in a bun in the morning and take it off at night right before I go to sleep. But through out the day it stays in a bun. So my question is; is it bad for my hair? Side note: I did this for nearly a year and a half every day and didn't notice any changes in my hair (other than the hair growth), then about a year ago (March 2019) I trimmed my hair and I've been growing it back ever since then, and for the past 2 months I have it in a bun again.

I would would personally say no, it's not bad. I do the exact same. Most of the time my hair is in a bun. I think the whole idea of man buns causing baldness is ridiculous. if you wear it too tight then traction alopecia is a possibility but other than that. I wouldn't worry.

I don't know, but I remember when I my hair was long enough to be put in a bun, I remember the first time I did I had a headache, but then I got used to it. I just don't think it's a good idea for your hair follicles and scalp. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't f***ing wear my hair in a bun. Now my hair around the crown is patchy and thinner that it used to be. Every time I see it I feel like I wanna commit suicide
