I was curious if you have a mature hairline or otherwise if it’s ok to ask. I’m 42 with really long blond hair and I’m still trying to assess my hairline 😂 I never paid attention to my edges (?!) until recently. My hairline is full on top and in front and I often had my hair hiding my temples and I wonder if I used to tie my hair too tight for years, perhaps, but never so it felt stiff or hurt, so it might have been this way for a long time and I never noticed. Hopefully my failure to notice is a good sign 🪧 my old pics of myself are not usually side views though 🤷

In my early twenties my corners were thinning very quickly, I thought I was balding. I'm 26 now and since roughly 3, 4 years the thinning has come more or less to a halt. My hairline used to be square, now it's a little widow's peaky. At the age of 26 I'd say my hairline has matured, but it is noticable because the center of my hairline hasn't moved a single mm and I have a very masculine skull and sloped forehead, so the corners are definitely visible. Yet I'm still growing out my hair, also b/c the hair I _do_ have is very thick and healthy. It's just that I wouldn't want to go for a man bun, my hairline isn't that bad but it would put emphasis on those two corners of hair each of roughly 2-3 cms that are not there anymore.

Case Study on my Traction Alopecia: I've always had medium long hair, but over the last 2.5 years I grew it till my hips to donate part of it. I started losing lot of hair during this time, before which my hairline was really healthy. Now I can see a good region of my scalp through my hairline. I'm a motorcyclist, and the helmet sometimes tugs on my hairline ever so slightly (it ads up during long trips), I wear headphones often too. I also have a TON of hair volume and weight and though I wear a loose ponytail it possibly puts pressure on my hairline, 'especially when I'm sleeping (gets tugged a lot)!! or when shampooing / brushing (knots), there's a lot of inevitable tugging, hair fall, and breakage going on'. No men in my family have gone bald even towards 70. My dad still has a very healthy hairline. I only just learned about Traction Alopecia 4:24 and have finally identified the source of the balding. I fear at this point however it's permanent because I didn't address it soon enough. I'm going to donate my hair and dropped it back to a medium soon and in doing so alleviate the weight. Hopefully this gives insight to some of you.

Never coloured my hair in my life. First I was blonde, then my hair had every natural color in it,kaleidoscopic in a way ,then it went brown and i still had blonde temples yet with strawberry blonde, black, red and varying shades of brown flecks. Then the temple hairs fell out. My hair used to be so thick that it was difficult to brush. One day I shaved it bald after thick shoulder length hair. Then the follicles thinned and now i am a norwood 3. If I'm lucky it will relatvely stay the same. Currently going grey as well.

The corner of my hair line is starting to thin and recede. My hairs shoulder length. But my corner is starting to slightly recede. And it makes me want to cry because I’m only 28. It’s not super bad and my wife and everyone says they can’t see it or notice it. BUT I can see it snd notice it. It’s upsetting. The middle of the hairline is still strong it’s almost like I’m forming a half widows peak lol. I think what I’ve done or have is traction alopecia from pulling it up. Before growing out the last 2 years I had several different hairstyle and in 2014-2016 I did the undercut Top knot. And pulled it up a lot and then 2016-2019 I had like the swooped over hard part cut and used a lot of product and heat to style my hair. So I think I’ve just damaged it snd I’m not balding or receding but it still kindve a bummer. I’m working on fixing it with some oils and vitamins and just over all better care of it pulling it up and back all the time. Usually only pull it up if I’m at work. Other than that just leave it down.

Why not show hairstyles for those with receding hairstyles that want to grow their hair out? "I hope this video shows you that receding hairlines and long hair can look amazing. "...failed

What if you have baby fine hair? My hair is long but impossible to deal with. What are the best styling products for baby fine hair?

Generally speaking texture powders, thickening tonics, maybe texture sprays if you blow dry. I would imagine a volume mousse could work as well.
