Definitely. All down to the high humidity on the day we filmed.

Also the xp 50 could see the wire but the XL50 couldn't? Why is that?

Simple: Although the XP has fewer pixels in it's thermal sensor they are larger and more sensitive to capturing thermal information, especially in high humidity (like we had on the test day). If you're choosing a thermal and that's important, look for a low NETD.
