Best Thermal Camera: Thermal Master P2 vs Topdon TC005 Comparison

Hi there! As a HVACer, your video is really helpful!! Could you pls shoot some extra comparison videos of these two thermal cameras checking expansion valves or throttling devices on AC units? Or even other applications-that’d work too. With Christmas around the corner, I’m thinking about which one to buy, and your videos could help me nail down the decision. Thanks a ton in advance!

I sure will! Tomorrow I'll be posting some KZbin shorts comparing the models more in depth with practical uses, 1: solar and electrical and 2: HVAC. Make sure you subscribe and come back. My intuition tells me the results will be relatively the same from the image, however if I needed a tool for the trades I would pick the Thermal Master for a few reasons: easier to carry with you, recording video with audio removed the need for additional notes along with the file, and the ease of sharing because the files are already on the device make the Thermal Master much more practical. It also used the phones batteries so no need to keep another device charged.

Wow, im so happy that you did a review. I was looking for another model first ( Flir I think) which is more expensive and possibly overkill for me. Seems like this is what I need. Its very well priced in my region and based on your video it does the job for me. Thanks🤩

Thank you! Happy to help! I actually looked at the FLIR and Klein solutions and they really do not offer any additional value, and they are a lot bulkier so it makes the Thermal Master the clear winner

Agreed! It has all of the same primary features, a smaller profile, and allows for audio recording!!

P2 comes with a case while the more expensive P2 pro doesnt have a case

whats the price difference? the handheld one is more 100 bucks than the small one?

The Thermal Master is almost $200 less than the Topdon! Much better price and value, and portability is not even comparable
