I’d say the final version looks the best myself. This video was very informative about how many different versions of this coach there are. If I had the money I would definitely want to add one to my collection.

Hey ThomasWoodenRailway! The most awesome thing happened today! One of my teachers, who knows I love trains, came up to me with a box of his old Thomas toys, and said I could have them all, FOR FREE. He didn't want them anymore and said he wanted to give them to someone who would take care of them (which was me). There was ton of take along stuff, including an original take along Mike, which is super cool. There was also a 1992 Gordon, Mavis, Ben, and a Knapford Express Coach. I noticed it was not like the 1993 that you had, because it had black borders on the very ends of the detail, but not on the top and bottom of the detail. I found out that this one is kinda like a transitional one between the really old original one and the 1993 one. I just thought you might want to know that there is another version of the Knapford Express Coach out there that you might want in your collection.

Very interesting review! It's very interesting to see how such a one-off item got 5 whole variants! I personally prefer the first version because it looks more accurate color-wise and doesn't have that text I find so annoying.

Currently got a bunch of ideas for customs and thinking of giving 2 Knapford Express Coaches to 98462 with the idea of those being the early version of the express for an engine present in the NWR’s early history.

I just watched your Rusty review which you uploaded after this, and thie Knapford Express Coach has as many versions of itself as Rusty! I think the first two versions of the express coach's bodies should've been in red or white instead of gray 18:03 I really like that custom face!

8:54 I have that one too but mine is dated 1994 on all 8 wheels. Nice collection, the only one I'm missing is the 1992 no-text version. I'm not ready to hand my $150+ to the eBay scalpers yet.

I got my first Knapford Express Coach off of Ebay for $17 and for some weird reason it has dates on one chassis and no dates on the other. It’s also the last version with flat wheels, not sure if that’s special or not.

Couldn’t you cut off a square face (like a diesel or a truck) and stick it over the coach with the marker on it and make it a backround character?

I definitely could! But I've never introduced a completely custom character into my series and probably won't in the future. I like sticking the characters that have been featured in The Railway Series and TV series. :)
