A bunch of teenage nerds in the south of Germany in the 90's listened to this song and album countless times while creating roleplay characters, playing board games, talking about Tolkien and other fantasy stuff and whatnot. Good times. Blind Guardian always inspired me. And I always wanted to be as good a drummer as Thomen Stauch. Didn't work out, but thank you for the great times and memories!

Back in the 2002 I was playing drums with friends and we were trying to play this and Born In the Mourning Hall. I had the hardest time deciphering wtf was going on on the drums in those songs. In the end I figured out this ridiculous pattern from the beginning of BitmH (floor tom, double bass and snares with both hands) and the constant cymbal upbeat on 4 and 1 on the verse here. My friends told me I was crazy, no way was he playing it like that, because it was way too loud and busy. Now you post these songs and I can finally say " I KNEW IT!". Thank you Thomen!

Hi there Thomen!! Been a fan of BG for over 20 years now and was lucky enough to catch a show in my country on the ANATO tour, the place was and old roman amphi theater so the venue really suited Blind Guardian, it was kinda magical and also my first metal show ever. Suffice to say we were blown away. On my early drumming years I would listen to your work and wonder how the hell could someone play that fast paced music in almost every song, and throughout a whole set list live. I really took so much inspiration from you on those times, you will always have a place in my drumming hall of fame. And now, if you will allow me, I´d like to offer some constructive criticism on your videos. Of course, your playing is spot on as we can hear on the audio tracks, but I´ve been watching your videos for over a year now and never subscribed because the video quality is pretty sub par to all the other drumming channels out there, and it is a shame because it looks to me that the issue with the frame rating could be easily fixed in edition. Don't wanna sound too blunt about it but honestly I'm a bit tired of searching through the comments and seeing that noone has ever said anything about this, so maybe this could be a helpful message after all (keep in mind that I speak from the deepest respect to you and don't intend to offend you in anyway, on the contrary I just would love to fully enjoy this videos and at the moment the frame rate is always a set-back, even though I always watch till the end) Anyway, sorry for the text brick xD, hopefully it is of some help to you and once again thank you very much for all these years of inspiration, keep rocking!!!!

Hey my friend! Thanks for these kind words! 🙏♥️♥️ Hmmm...the problem with the blurry cams i don't know how to solve. I use 5 cams Logitech c920/c922. They can do 1080p at 30fps and 720p at 60fps. I record with 30fps at 1080p. For a short time i used 720p with 60fps, but it was not really better or less blurry. So what is the problem? You know it? 🤷‍♂️🤔🤷‍♂️ I will definitely not by cameras for round 400 to 1000 Euros for a channel followed by around 5200 user. Please, if you know a solution, I'm open for every help and explanation. Thank you! 🙏🤘🏻🤗🤗

I'm no professional video editor but I´ve dabbled a little bit in editing and I used to have the same problems with the frame rate. So the cameras are ok, 1080p at 30fps should be more than enought to have a smooth video, and I'm guessing that before editing the raw videos are smoother as well? In my case the problem was not knowing what format was better for KZbin when exporting my videos from Premiere or DaVinci. I had to do some research on those days and learned that the H.264 option is usually the best one for KZbin Videos. Anyway I'm gonna copy/paste some indications I´ve found online, let's see if that helps you as well: "When uploading a video, you'll have several choices to make regarding codecs, aspect ratio, and more. Stick to what's recommended by KZbin for the best video file. Those recommendations are: H.264 codec 15-20 mbs Audio codec AAC-LC Both the video and audio codecs are designed to keep as much integrity in video and sound in your video as possible while uploading. If you stick to KZbin's recommendations, you should not have any trouble with losing video quality, or with audio not lining up with the video. KZbin's standard aspect ratio is 16:9, so make sure that your file, in whatever format, uploads at that ratio. Otherwise, you'll have an oddly formatted video, with dark bars along the sides or top, and you may lose subscribers if your video fits oddly in their playback screens, or if they can't make out details. KZbin's max file size is 128 GB, or a length of 12 hours. They will take whichever is less. Though, if you want consistent viewers, try not to cram too much information into one video. If you're sticking to one topic per video, you'll likely never have a problem with a file being too large to upload to KZbin. Despite KZbin having multiple formats that you can use, the recommended .MP4 or .MOV are the best ways to keep the integrity of your video and audio. The added recommendation by KZbin will ensure that you upload the best quality that you can to your channel. Having high quality videos is one of the best ways to keep subscribers, and make yourself stand out in a sea of other channels, and these file formats are the best ones to use to upload your videos." In the meantime, I have a friend in Canada who's working doing VFX for Netflix shows and movies, I'll also ask him about it in case any of the previous advices don't work for you. Let's try and get the smooth videos you deserve!! If you can manage that the number of subscribers is gonna Sky rocket for sure. All the best Thomen!!

Also not really sure if those Logitech cams are more like webcams with less quality overall, but other option instead of buying new cameras would be having a couple of smartphones for recording the videos, nowadays they come with smashing quality cameras and everybody has one anyway, you could maybe borrow 2 or 3 for recordings (This is of course if the H.264 solution doesn't help, try that first)

Thomen liefert einfach ab! Einer der besten BG Songs und das Drumming ist sensationell gut. Was hier auch wieder super funktioniert ist dein Trademark mit der Snare auf 1 und 3 und danach dann umgekehrt auf 2 und 4, du weißt bestimmt, was ich meine. Passiert in vielen Refrains und funktioniert als Signature-Move immer 👍🏻
