the album and song that made me fall in love with Blind Guardian! I ordered it as an import when you couldn't even buy it from a normal record store in the United States! I had returned to metal post high school and had gotten into several bands who put BG on their playlists in magazines. i also read about BG from Jeff Wagner in Metal Maniacs or another magazine and my interest was piqued because I dug fantasy literature and the nineties mainstream rock was all depression central! It was February 1998 and I'll never forget that day putting it in my mom's cd player! And one of the first things that I noticed were the drums! The power pushing the melody forward! A perfect balance of everything! Still my favorite BG album and a huge influence on my life to this day!

One of the best BG song ever! Total classic and hit on all cylinders! This is the all mighty BG i fell in love with. All power, all melody, all catchy! Hansi is still a powerful singer (always have been) but my favorite era was from the 90s specially on Tales, Somewhere and Nightfall. Imagination is a freaking heavy and powerful album but Hansi vocals are more harsh and i think i prefer a more clean tone.

Das ganze Album "Tales from the twilight world" sprüht einfach vor so vielen tollen Ideen, Melodien, Arrangements und Themen. Zusammen mit "Somewhere" für mich der Peak von Blind Guardian. Selbst "Imaginations" und "Nightfall" kamen für mich an die Atmosphäre der Früh-90er nicht mehr ran.

Tales from the twilight world, somewhere far beyond, imaginations from the other side und nightfall in middle earth sind Platten für die Ewigkeit. Erst die aktuelle Platte ist wieder ähnlich überzeugend. Und der Song follow the blind. Leider wird der nicht genug gewürdigt, imho.
