The Hawken project is finally finished. After months of buying all the various parts, refinishing the stock and barrel, the Hawken is now complete.

Nice work ! I’m about to re finish my T/C Hawken .45. I want to put a vintage Malcolm scope on it.

I think there is something more to be said about a DIY a-la-carte project like this than just buying one. That being said I’ll probably head your advise and buy a complete one for a fair price and eventually restore/refinish it.

Well done, I think you made something that truly shines and speaks of times to come and adventures that become memories that cant be purchased because they live in the place that makes us who we are. Finding the patch thickness and powder loads for the distance or game you hunt will be just as unique to you as the rifle, and once discovered will make this your rifle. She will feed you defend you and never cheat on you, or leave with everything, that is a pretty good deal in the grand scheme of things.

Turned out great, doing it yourself it will mean a lot more to you than just a kit firearm. Keep up the good work. Let's see how it shoots when the madness is over.

Super cool! The "FrankenHawken" A one of a kind gun. Now get it out and SHOOT IT ! I bet I didn't need to encourage you to do that. In fact, by this time, I bet you've already done it.

I actually haven't shot it yet, believe it or not. I tried to go several times but ended up having trouble with the gun. Then covid happened and I never got around to it. I will definitely make a video when I do go shoot it for the first time though!

I just bought a Thompson Center Hawken kit gun already made for $200 and I paid $35 to ship it to my house

What a great project! You did a good job piecing that thing together. I’m also surprised you weren’t able to do it cheaper. I have a love hate relationship with my Hawken 50 cal 😂🤣😂 I just found and joined your channel 👍

Thank you so much! Yes, the price was surprising to me as well but it honestly could have ended up costing a lot more! I've always wanted one so we'll see if it lives up to my expectations! Thanks for sub!

Sharp looking gun, Andrew! While it may have been more of a time and financial investment than going out and simply picking one out off the rack, there's definitely something to be said about doing it the way you did. Should make for a more meaningful firearm long into the future. Well done! Look forward to seeing you harvest a deer with it this flintlock season!

Thank you, and yes, this firearm is very meaningful because of how it was built. I can't wait to use it!
