I'm glad they got it contained near Kelley Ridge. It's pretty steep and there are pockets of open land in the middle of clusters of homes. Wind is down, but it's hot as hell. Welcome to California, where we have 2 seasons: Summer and Fire.

Great report!! I'm by no means a fire expert but it appears that the area to the north of the river around Oregon City hasn't burned since the 1954 Power Line#1 fire. But there have been fires on either side of it fairly recently. South of the river is another story. The 1961 Long Bar Rd fire, 1961 Bidwell Bar PG&E #6, 1959 Skyline, and several small 2020 fires (Grand, Feather, Nelson) make this area seem much more at risk.

Great video! Wish I had found you 2 days ago, great explanation and views. Hubby kept telling me it was hooking around closer towards us the first night but I didn't believe him. While we never hit even evac warning had these AMAZING firefighters both on land and in the air not busted butt, well things might have been very different. 🙏 On a side note the fire advancing against the wind, topography considered, I thought was odd. So did the TV meteorologist so 🤷 your not akone🌷

I’ve noticed it’s been a pretty year in general. We were having weird lighting storms a month and half to two months ago. And the wind, it’s just continued. Been a very windy year and that’s horrible for dry, very hot weather

The water doesn't jump up and water the area to keep it damp. You can have a fire anywhere. The proximity of a large body of water has ZERO bearing on the fire, except for ease of airdrops.

My dream last night goes south idk if that location rocks hill goes to valley comes from lower up.
