I was in love with Alannah Currie . They were amazing live and studio. 35 years of gigs, Thompson Twins are in my top 5. Should be recognised much more, very original, different, still great to listen to. Very Cool!

Outstanding! One of the greatest shows I've ever seen was Thompson Twins at Park West back in '87. I was exhausted after that show - not one second of being still the entire show. Everyone at that show was dancing the entire time. Great fun.

Thompson Twins Brighton Center December 1984 was the first gig I ever went to and this was the opening track so this was the first song I ever saw live

NICE!! I love that the bands in the 80s had stage presence, TALENT, and knew how to put on a great performance. Most of the really enduring bands had it all, and this band is definitely an enduring one. The music still sounds just as good today as it did then! EVEN LIVE!

Hot damn, thanks for posting this!! I saw the TT at the kickoff concert for this tour at Northside HS in Atlanta in Spring of 1984 and saw them again that September at The Fox Theatre that September. Incredible music, incredible stage performance, incredible concert (and I've seen hundreds of 'em). Reunion Tour, s'il vous plait?

I remember one of the band gave an interview years later and he said he and his girlfriend were working for the Twins on one of the tours and his girlfriend became so ill that they had to quit but Thompson Twins paid them both in full for the whole length of the tour even though they only worked for a few weeks. The Twins wanted to make sure they could go home and concentrate on nursing the girl back to health without worrying about money. The Twins were always generous !

hey you were part of this, thats great. Thanks for confirming the date. About Boris, I know he was actually sacked from the band by TT's manager cause he requested a pay raise and thanks God he was fired as Boris did a memorable great job with The Cure.

Oh, I remember that documentary with the concert, I bought the videocassette when Thompson Twins had already been forgotten (1994). I remember that there was a scene when Alannah was crying in the tourbus, that she felt like a bundle of nerves "travelling work travelling work" She wanted to have some time to go to a party or time for herself. I always thought about shall I believe that? Because my sister was a groupie for indie-bands and they had a lot of parties after work (=concert) and I knew also from famous bands that they have a lot of time to hang around and for themselves in the bus when they are travelling. After Alannah said that with tears in her eyes she said something into the camera that felt like as if she had just been joking and we shall not take it so serious...

I think there is a way better chance The Smiths would reunite (probably in the near future actually), but I'd be surprised to see the T.T. go out on tour. Last I saw, Tom Bailey & wife were still into making music, but stuff that was totally non-pop oriented (living in Australia or New Zeland). But that was at the earlier part of this decade, so who knows. I'd still think they'd only tour in Europe or part of the Re-Generation tour, which only plays in select North American cities. :(

Though I'd be right there with ya, sadly it won't happen. Not in the way you'd think it would. Tours in general aren't set up for these types of shows anymore. (Yet another aspect why this generation has been robbed of [never knowing an awesome concert experience]). Having worked at an ampitheater since '94, I can tell you most productions r either cheap or aren't designed to operate a show like they did old skool. It's more '70s, where it's the lights and the performers. NEthing else is gravy
