Love seeing Tom playing that Telecaster Elite (a model Fender made for only a couple years). To this day, I'd still love to own one of those.

They used backing tracks to create a fuller sound, including some of Tom's backing vocals. They were the best live band I've ever seen.

If I remember correctly, Grace Jones guested on the studio version of Watching, so I think they have her vocal on playback, as well, and Allanah and Joe are sort of lip syncing to it. But the lead vocals I think are live, though. If Tom was lip syncing, it'd sound much better. Not that he sounds bad, but he doesn't sound perfect, ya know? That's how you can always tell when someone is actually singing live, or that they haven't "fixed" the vocals in post-production (ie overdubbed it).

@@Kohntarkosz I do hear the Grace Jones vocal, but that's really Alannah's and Joe's voices too over top of it. The 7" release was a re-recorded version without the Grace Jones vox, it was all Alannah and Joe. (Warts and all!)

What a show the Twins put on! Even though Alanah Currie is just a little thing she sure does have a big presence on the stage! There is so much going on at a Thompson Twins show you don't know where to look next! Ah, how times have changed!
