@mr.h4ndzum1756 жыл бұрын
regarding the perkz switch - he already might be in the top 3 mids europe ever produced, if not, he's definitely top 5. the switch is a gamble, but if it works out it just might give him the title of the best eu player ever in terms of achievements. he showed he can carry when funneled, he offers a lot of flexibility if the meta shifts in the same way when it sent mages to bot and his game knowledge is possibly on the highest level. it's a risky switch, but, if it works it will smash.
@maximilienlemeledo82146 жыл бұрын
I'll just bounce back on one of your argument (the funneling one). The biggest challenge for G2 is going to attribute resources. I mean yeah it's great to be able to carry when funneled but hey if you give everything to Perkz then Caps is gonna collapse (we saw it happen multiple times during LCS/Worlds). Both are resources intensive players with high expectations, it might clash a bit...

@chtholly80846 жыл бұрын
Jungle is a less intense role than adc so it's not exactly hard to imagine someone swapping from adc to jungle and doing well. On the other hand midlane is as intensive if not slightly less intensive than adc, and therefore if you don't know what the fuck you're doing you can easily crash and burn no matter how good you were at your former role.
@gigiobb6 жыл бұрын
Thorin did not say it is not going to work. He did say it is unlikely he gets to the same skill he had as a midlaner. Sure it could happen like Score , but that is an exception not the rule and should not be used as a motto supporting this move. Also you are evaluating after the fact . At the time Score switched it was an incredible risky move and had every reason to fail.

Couldn't agree more with that comment. It's also similar to TL's move, it isn't just what you gain from the acquisition, its what you can deprive the team of. TL and C9 were probably the most competitive team in both splits, and I think had this C9 roster gone into next split with Jensen they might well have been able to take games off of TL in playoffs (obviously hypothesising a bit here), but TL with Jensen has gained and deprived C9 of a key asset. As much as it pains me, its pretty smart of TL.
@QuartzGolem6 жыл бұрын
You can see Steve's mindset behind each acquisition in the announcement video. His excitement for CoreJJ is much greater than what he feels about the Jensen deal. CoreJJ is a pickup that he believes will actually bring the roster to the next level, Jensen is such a slight improvement over Pobelter that it is very likely that the main motivation was denying the biggest threat to another domestic title(at least until 100t possibly signs Bang)

Like it hoards the top 2 eu mids and basically guarantees a worlds spot by dominating eu, but what happens when you get to worlds?? Seems pretty shortsighted, unless Perkz can turn into a world-class adc in 2 splits - not impossible but harder than some people might imagine, even for a top player
@Manu-gr3ow6 жыл бұрын
Here a my 2 Cents on this: In case of Perkz, he has been talking about role-swapping at one point in his career for some years now. And if your mind is set on that idea, you will never find a better opportunity to do so. Yes, it is a big gamble for him, but I honestly think, if someone can pull this off, it would be Perkz. He certainly has the skill and game knowledge to succeed (Although there is a good chance that Mages/Bruisers Bot will stick around). We'll see how it goes... On the topic of Caps, I think for him, it is about getting better as a player. His mechanical skill can match the very best, but especially at worlds it was pretty clear, that he has obvious flaws in his play. In order to get better, teaming up with Perkz, practicing on an almost daily basis, seems like a good idea to me. He is bound to learn something. Hopefully some restraint in laning :P Overall, I'm deciding to be excited for the next season. I'm sure, G2 will come up, with some crazy picks and strategies to amuse us :P There is a chance this might actually work and if it does, it's gonna be insane!!!

The 2 points that need answers: How the Botlane gonna develop ?Synergy and as a duo (and individually for PerkZ) ; How Caps gonna evolve into G2, the biggest question mark: Caps as said by Thooorin is someone who did not play with the restrain sometimes necessary to pop off at the perfect time he was playing aggro everytimes .... But before he had Broxah the best jungler in EU who covered him + Hylisssang roaming mid and putting some vision around him sometimes .... Now he has a new team, so the synergy gonna take times and not only that but he's with Jankos as a Duo Mid/Jg when Jankos int like sometimes he does who's gonna save the game? Broxah was consistent alot of times. Very risky move imo, and i don't like the way Ocelote "conquer" LCS by eleminating potential rival like this, here he takes a valuable pawn midlane for himself. Cool for him but i just hope EU LCS is still stacked next split.

I don't have time to write a super long response, though I wanted to point out one thing you might have missed; Perkz mental wellbeing. You are so right for condemning his decision based on it ruining the potential mega-legacy he could have set as a mid laner. But, he's someone who's spoken about burn out multiple times before, and getting role fatigue, and I genuinely think that if he'd stayed playing mid for two more years he'd have become more and more miserable. So for him, I think of this is more of a move to put some life and excitement back into his career. This doesn't mean it's good for the org, but I think that's a lot of where Perkz motivation is coming from :)

I think the role swap is almost an insult to the god-tier bot lanes like Hans-Sama Gorilla or Rekless & Hylissang. Certainly Perkz is one of the most talented mid laners EUW has produced, and realy stable... but I strongly believe that thinking he is as gifted to pass trough people that has been mastering the position for 5 or more years, along diferent metas... is not a bold move, is almost ridiculous. On the other hand, if we consider the meta changes this year... and the fact that roles are not written in stone.... is G2 thinking behind the scenes on stablishing a new & diferent style in the bot lane? Maybe constantly flexing the mages around mid & bot lane? That posibility is certainly SCARY. Because Perkz could roll over with an aggresive support in that scenario. I can see him easily getting to caster ADCS like lucian or Ezreal. But honestly, I don´t see Perkz playing stuff like Cailtyn. The mindset to play that is not "is a diferenet champion, but I can keep my playstyle. Requires a total diferent set of abilities. And... outside soloQ. Can he have the ability to not absorb resources from Jankos, and give it to Caps and Wunder, like Fnatic did lately? How will he perform there? Too many questions. Guys, don't take what Thorin is saying so serious. He is not a good analyst in League so he is not always right. Kikis was previously playing top lane for G2 when they won one of their EU trophies. Years later, he joined Polish super team Illuminar as a jungler. He literally transitioned to jungle month or so before joining. Then they absolutely destroyed polish scene and European scene with his jungle knowledge, later after this Vitality got him because of Yamatos great understanding of players. We already know what that ended, right? They went for Worlds only because of Kikis, the player who was playing top lane for many years in LCS. Top lane - won EU, transitioned to Jungle - shocked whole world with his synergy with Vitality. That kind of transition isn't always bad, if player KNOW he can do it, I would say we should let him. Just wait and we will see. Im not afraid to say, based on my own analogy, and psychological observation, that Perkz is that kind of person like Kikis that can do multiple of things at once. G2 are gambling when they don't need to. Rather replace bot and keep Perkz in mid. Also get the feeling Perkz was pushing for this, but not because he really wants to play the role. Perkz has proven to be able to play both archetypes of champions. He might be 1 of the only players who can pull that off at such an elite level. So it probably will give G2 a lot of flexability in draft compared to other teams who have botlaners that can only play Marksmen. In this regard Perkz can bring the uniqueness that Hjärnan brought to their draft, but potentially at a higher level. Therefore Perkz might just be a straight upgrade over Hjärnan.

he thinks his talent can over shy the experience ..But how can he compare to the top adcs that played these limited champions their whole life .. Will perks be better than han sama? or the shalke dude ? .. well we have to wait.. but me neither dont really like that move.. its exciting for sure.. but something negative smells in the air

Sry but Thorin has little clue here. It was Wunder and Perkz carrying worlds. Wunder did a phenomenal job. On the other hand the true weakness of G2 is Jankos. He is a very inconsistent player. Caps was good because others supported him like Hylissang or soaz roaming and sacrificing themselves for his lead. As you stated right, with new adc mikyx will be hugging him. The point is, perkz will no longer have that much impact on the game as he used to, that will be a mental challenge for him.

Jankos choker, 2 Times worlds semis, once in finals and MSI champ. Hm. How many Eu Players have better International results 😂

Brilliant move for G2. I noticed at World's G2's middle and top lane kept up with or stayed ahead of their enemy laner during laning phase. G2's bot lane would be 30-40 cs behind. If G2 can have that pressure in all three lanes they'll definetly be a top team at next World's. So, I believe it was a great move. Now all three lanes will be pressuring early and not have a weak lane that can be exploited. Great move for G2. Bad for Fnatic.

will they? perkz is entirely unproven and vs better players caps runs it down mid like a bot (similar to bwipo when he fell apart when he finally faced a top lane threat) this is a stupid move perkz and soaz have a similar dynamic in the comparison to caps and bwipo cap's is great with a lead in a winning match up but is a complete liability with no off switch and no concept of safe play in a losing match up the same as bwipo where as perkz and soaz are far more stable and adaptable players and far more capable of playing the bad end of a match up without pissing the game down the drain fnatic fucked up letting soaz go and g2 fucked up letting perkz go (atleast from mid anyway) both teams have made some horrible off season choices and have doubled down on a meta which has historically been brief whenever it has appeared both teams will not perform to the standard they did this year i will guarentee that

@@tobygreppellini5960 "caps runs it down against better mids" happened against one midlaner the entire year :D

I will definitely mourn 2018 FNC but I don't think perkz to ad is a desperation move. I think perks could be one of the best adcs. He's already proved he can do it mechanically he just needs the game knowledge. It's definitely a gamble but the pay off is huge.

Yeah poor FNC not only they came so close on winning worlds but right after getting stomped in the finals they go and lose caps and soaz

G2 just fucked there bot lane hard nothing wrong with hjarnan and wadid they played so fucking well at worlds and when G2 ran the gauntlet to make it to worlds they were a massive reason they made it. I think fnatic won’t miss caps I feel like people forget how much broxah and hyli roamed or sat mid all the time and sometimes especially at worlds he would absolutely throw games like he did in the finals

Seriously? You rate Jankos the highest? Wtf .. This guy has underperformed whole summer split and even fed so hard at worlds that they almost couldn´t make it out of groups. There is a reason this guy was called a choker. In my opinion the jungle role is the only weak point of this squad.

I place Perkz above Caps but Caps has more talent, it's sad he is so inconsistent.

Caps isnt fully develop and i dont think g2 is the right place to do it, caps should stayed whit youngbuck 1 more year (yes youngbuck not fnatic)... Totally agree whit the points about Perkz.

EU has more Mid talent than ADC talent. I can see this is a good move for future of LEC. But it is definitely not the "Super super team" at the moment. The super super team was the Fnatic lineup.
