Frankly I doubt they'll do it but I'd even love -syrson + Mantuu. I have zero faith in syrson. I didn't even have faith before he rejoined big, he was playing awfully in a tier 3 team that jdc was performing very well in, so syrson had no excuse when the other German guy sitting right next to him was pulling ratings .16 or more higher than syrson despite being an awper.

That's a pretty big downgrade, Mantuu is hugely overrated.

@@jdiscount if you wanted to call it a sidegrade. I would've disagreed but there could've been a discussion. But a pretty big downgrade? Mantuu consistently outputs a level that's 90 percent of the streaky ass highs halzerk hits. And it's not like mantuu doesn't also have highs, that's just his consistent output. You act like mantuu isn't far more consistent. And hasn't popped off at tier 1 tournaments with sick highs. Halzerk when he's having a really good 3 months will average a 1.16. Then will drop off the face of the planet. Or some matches during that 3 month period he'll feed the enemy team a victory. Mantuu is never so bad he feeds even when underperforming. And he averages 90 percent of the 1.16 rating halzerks high periods reach, except throughout the entire year.

@@davidmontgomery1442 I suppose with floppy+grim i can see that. If they had just one other star rifler I'd fully disagree. It's worth adding though, you're right, you need really high highs from your awper to win a tournament, however to even reach the final you need a consistent awper. That would be my counter. It's just weird to hear halzerk called a pretty big upgrade over mantuu. I feel the more appropriate thing to say would be that you don't see complexity winning tournaments with mantuu and think hallzerk is a better fit with complexity. Oh lastly , hallzerk still feeds some maps even during this new resurgence of his in ways I've never seen mantuu feed. Missing sitters left and right. If hallzerk could keep up this level, even though he may feed a map here and there. I'd be fine with him staying. But I'll have to see it to believe it, as hallzerk has pulled out 3 month periods like this before and then right back into a slump the next few months. He's both streaky on a map to map basis. And in how frequently he slumps. Only one of those are acceptable not both. So I hope his recent play is a sign of what's to come and not just another few months burst of form. I do see what you're saying though and have to atleast say your point has ground even if I think they could have an equal chance with mantuu your opinion has supporting claims and makes logical sense. I just wish floppy or grim would step up, because elige deserves better , shit so does jt. And if one of those 2 stepped up halzerk would be a clear choice to upgrade into something more consistent (assuming he starts another few month slump) I feel floppy and grims poor play is distracting from the fact that an awper isn't meant to be this streaky. Its why poizons career didn't turn out. He had the same issue. Extremely high highs vs the best teams in the world. But both streaky on a map to map basis and in a slump sense as well. And only one is acceptable for tier 1 for an awper. A 1.17 rating over a best of 3 where one map you had a 2.1, another a 1.0and another a 0.4, isn't good enough when you also slump frequently. A 1.10, 1.13, 1.16 over a best of 3 that practically never slumps is preferred.

He always choked in big games especially during the online era on OG, but still was a superb awper relative to expectations. Always impressed me with the rifle though. Maybe its too late to switch now but damn I would have loved the idea of OG getting some talented russian kid on the awp (replace issaa ofc) and letting him show his riflework more.
