Good video, and although I do think there's an interesting point to be made about Zywoo underperforming at the beginning of the year (he always has 2-3 pretty underwhelming events, big or small, and it doesn't even seem to be dependent on roster changes), the point about him underperforming at big events seems to be something that is highly debatable with a little bit of nuance. Let's look at s1mple. 1. He was the main AWPer at berlin, GuardiaN joined right afterward. The only reason they made the playoffs is because electronic went nuts. 2. I'd be embarrassed to mention some of the playoff runs that Navi had with s1mple in the lineup (eleague beating QBF before getting smashed, same with beating a shit MIBR team in the semis after beating BIG with smooya before s1mple getting humiliated in the final by astralis, them getting CLG in the quarterfinals at MLG after narrowly beating FNATIC in a bo1, where he was awesome to be fair) 3. He wasn't even the highest rated player at several of these major runs. Both eleague tournaments ended with flamie having higher ratings, electronic at faceit london, and b1t at antwerp. Then go look at zywoos teammates at the past couple of majors: straight garbage. How people shit on zeus, edward, and flamie while telling me about zywoo that "He HaS VeTeRaNs" when he hasn't had a SINGLE SECOND STAR PLAYER until Spinx blows my mind. 4. You said that s1mple's stats at berlin were "decent", while burying zywoo for better stats at his majors and similar stats at katowice. Again, there are some underperformances and dips in form that s1mple hasn't had, but branding zywoo as a player who doesn't step up in big moments is a poor way of demonstrating why he isn't the GOAT (which is true s1mple obviously is) when s1mple has had some of those very same moments.

thing is s1mple's bad numbers like 1.19 rating and 1.20 were at playoofs or in finals, and zywoo has never had a high 1.3 rating or 1.4 rating at major or prestiege event the closest zywoo had is 1.30 at pgl stockhgomlm (only 5-8th and lost to s1mple), and 1.33 at colgone (this is a legit one) but s1mple had 1.43 at pgl krakow (12-14th but that team was going to shit), 1.47 at pgl stockholm (best numbers in history), 1.34 at faceit (the only reason why he didnt have a 1.37+ rating was because he faced prime astralis whcih shut him down) zywoo has never popped of with god nubmers at big events, s1mple has and that is why he is goat

@@sh1nenkai258 so let's address this 1. He lost to navi, not s1mple. Perfecto was the highest rated player in that series. It would be wonderful if Zywoo had someone to do that for him. 2. If you look at their major ratings, zywoo is actually a higher-rated player at majors. I DONT THINK THAT MAKES HIM BETTER, BUT IF THOSE ARE THE METRICS WE ARE USING THEN APPLY THEM EQUALLY. 3. If we use major numbers, let's just declare coldzera the GOAT. That's not true, but i guess we should just ignore team status and look at stats. 4. He was godlike at cologne in 2019, and even cologne this year he was incredible. His team was just really shit. Just watch those EPL playoffs if you don't think he pops off against elite teams. 5. Not all stats are created equal. My argument against this video isn't the conclusion (s1mple is better), but the margin that he considers between the two and the style in which he compares them. It lacks nuance that he regularly possesses when comparing other players. Honestly, a lot of his videos lately have done this, the appeal of Thorin wasn't to watch him do an equivalent of my drunken HLTV stats scroll. We want an expert who applies his expert knowledge and knows how to use stats. Seems like he's mailing it in during vids like this, Mahone and others pay more attention to detail nowadays.

@@abodabo7985 if not all stats are equal then lets look at kpr which is just purely based of kills per round, ill give zywoo a handicap and only compare them 2 in events they have played in so no (faceit major or pgl krakow or esl one colonges s1mple played insane in) IEM Katowice 2019 s1mple had 0.81 kpr while zywoo had 0.74 Esl One Colonge 2019 s1mple had 0.85 while zywoo had 0.86, zywoo was mvp and came 2nd so thats all him berlin major 2019 s1mpole had 0.71, thats not that good (his standard) while zywoo had 0.77 again zywoo iem katowcie 2020 s1mple had 0.83 while zywoo had 0.76 (s1mple won the event and played 18 maps so its hard to even have 0.8 kpr) iem cologne 2021 s1mple has 0.96 kpr (bonkers) zywoo had 0.75 pgl stockholm major 2021 0.95 to s1mple (bonkers best in majors) zywoo had 0.83 (good but not s1mple levels) katowice 2022 s1mple had 0.83 (even with war conflict in playoffs) zywoo had 0.71 antwerp major 2022 s1mple had 0.81 (finalist) zywoo had 0.78 (not even playoffs) iem cologne 2022 s1mpole had 0.84 (finalist and mvp) zywoo had 0.81 (higher rating to but no playoffs so ur skewed opinioon on ratings doesnt make arguemnt he played better) 7 big events he has had better kpr, and 3 events he had over 0.1 more kpr, and one event he had over 0.2 kpr more and the events zywoo has more kpr, it isnt a big gap s1mple is clearly bettter

@@abodabo7985 for ur major ratings, ive included cologne and katowice, aswell as thorin did so ur major arguement is gone zywoo had 1 godlike big event at cologne 2019 (and his teamates were all doing good before the finals) EPL playoffs without a big crowd and only faced of G2 before the finals (only notable top team) and then beat liquid (known for choking) thorin is only comparing zywoo to s1mple because people who are fans and delusional are calling zywoo the goat when he hasn't really done goat things at the biggest events

comparing S1mple who played 11 Majors to Zywoo who played 4 Majors is like comparing baby Mbappe , Halaand to Messi , Ronaldo , It is mathematically unfair , S1mple is the greatest yet but Zywoo still has way more time ( 7 Majors more than S1mple to be exact ) .

@@neptunexii8927 Are you sure he carried ? did you watch the major ? or you were drinking mama's milk ? bcuz I did watch the majors back then and he was good maybe even great but he wasn't the S1mple of NaVi , he disappeared when it mattered the most and he had help , big help , adren , EliGE and sometimes Hiko . On the other hand Zywoo was always the best player statistically even when they lost , meaning the exact maps when they got knocked out of the Majors he preformed better than the players in his team , doesn't make what s1mple did easy but like I said Zywoo has room for improvement still and has time on his side too. Just to add one more thing ( Zywoo is the best player in the History of CSGO statistically when you include everything , not just HLTV numbers but FACEIT AND STEAM numbers , every game they ever played that has been recorded )

Also the way that he compares some of those stats is really unfair. I think it's probably better to look at how he underperforms at the beginning of the year (a trend that NO ONE seems to pick up), instead of saying that sunpayus is "right there" with zywoo by plus minus instead of kills, ADR, or rating (something he conveniently leaves out when looking at cologne, he was better than s1mple in many categories)

ZywOo basically has on average the same or slightly higher ratings across the board than S1mple, but WITHOUT 2 TOP 10 players such as B1t and Electronic. Sorry but the placings of Vitality are misleading, because CS is a team game and its not ZywOo's fault that he does NOT have team mates on the caliber of a B1t or Electronic. So if anything it is even MORE impressive that he achieves the same ratings as S1mple with arguably much less support. ZywOo is individually better than S1mple, but NOT more successful that is the right way to put it. Give ZywOo teammates on the level of NAVI and he crushes S1mple any day of the week. This video is highly biased and not objective. With worse teammates S1mple would also not reach better placements with NAVI. Again, it is a TEAM game and teammates matter a hell lot. It is wrong to blame an individual player on the overall team performance just because he is one of the best talents ever seen.
