Thanks, this is an excellent how-to video. You and I got our Thors a couple days apart so my journey is kinda parallel. Couple things I learned differently (which probably doesn't matter really) but might also help someone. That square where you lift the little rectangle spring... the thread goes back thru that bottom slot. When I wind the bobbin I put the thread thru that top post twice back to front (the post behind the bobbin tensioner). Then thru the bobbin tensioner hole around the disk and back thru the tensioner hole then to the bobbin. I haven't changed my needle yet but have made a couple little zipper pouches. I'm also so so happy with this machine. I just ordered the narrow Recent Relics table insert. Please do another video when you change your foot. I haven't done that either yet.

The best thing to do is talk with the company where you purchased it. Sunny Sewing centers is great to work with. I have the flat bed attachment, the needle positioner and that's it. These bobbins work for both my machines - www.sailrite.com/Bobbin-for-Sailrite-111-Professional-Consew-206RB?quantity=1&custcoldisc_so=F&custcol27=China&custcol28=8452.90.2090&custcol29=F01C05%252CD02B05%252CZ31C38%252CZ31D10&custcol_bypass_column=F&custcol_fraud_bypass=F&custcol_pick_level=1&custcol_sku=651123&custcol_ava_item=651123&custcol_ava_incomeaccount=Supplies&custcol_ava_pickup=F&custcol_non_returnable=F&is=login&ext=F&fragment=%2525252525252525252525252Fpurchases

Is that a safety button on the cylinder arm to be used to get the timing reset should it get off timing? My Juki 1541S has the safety button in approximately the same location, and all I have to do is hold that button down and turn my wheel backwards just a little bit until the button pops up and it is reset!

Awesome!!! I would like to get a cylinder arm, but I really need that safety button! I've inadvertently started sewing (a time or two or three lol) without holding the thread down, and it throws it off timing immediately. The safety switch trick has never failed me! :) Thanks for your quick response. @@jeanniesdesigns5295

Can the 1341 handle thinner materials, like for tshirts or summer dresses? Or possibly even spandex/lycra? I am trying to find a sewing machine that can handle thicker stuff (like leather belts) while also being able to handle thinner materials. I cannot fit two sewing machines in our house due to space constraints. So I am looking for a good general purpose one.

the Thor 1341 Cylinder is not really for light weight fabrics, it's a beast... i have a fabricator also and it's doesn't do well on lighter weight either. I'm really not sure what machines can do both well...

Just a question are you sitting on a high chair?? Your machine looks to be a normal height. My machine is so tall almost just under eye level. My table from the bottom is 281/2 inches high

I believe you don’t have to use the tool each time, I think it won’t move. Just turn the dial when you want to change and not have to tighten tool each time you adjust….unless I’m wrong… lol and I’ve been doing it all wrong….Also, mine came with a flat edge like the magnet one you showed. You can replace the round with the flat edge. I prefer the flat edge better. I have a cobra class 18 machine and it comes with the flat edge too. POssibly Thor does too.

@@jeanniesdesigns5295 I just got a 1341 also. Very happy with it but never read any instructions. I am a man and we usually don’t read instructions till we try it out ourselves and mess it up. 😂 I have made a few projects so far and wow sewing definitely has a learning curve to it. I am really enjoying it though. I am just learning sewing and don’t know that much yet but I am very mechanically inclined and have built a ton of stuff out of metal and rebuilt car engines ect. If its help fyi at all the common nomenclature those small screws are typically called “set screws”. Lug nuts I don’t really know exactly what that means in any other application perhaps its a term for a certain type of fastener but I have only ever heard if it in car, truck and trailer wheel nuts. Thank you for making this video. I was just kinda winging it and it was working but I really wasn’t sure I had it right. This was good to know. I don’t know if my machine has that bobbin thread holder clip or whatever its called. Its at the shop right now and I am home. I am going to wonder about it now till tomorrow morning. 😂 Great machine choice! I hope you are having fun making things with it and enjoying its super smooth powerful action.
