Odin is the true villain of the Thor films. He essentially creates them through being a crappy parent or just being a dick and never really pays for it until Loki vanishes him. He's lucky Thor didn't turn out as Hela 2. Forget Thanks being the MCU's ultimate baddy . It's Odin.

Thor the God of Thunder lost everything in this movie, first he lost his hammer, then he lost his father, then he lost warriors three, then he lost his eye, before losing all of Asgard to Firelord Surtur. Reasons: *SPOILERS* Odin and the Warriors Three are dead, hundreds of Asgardian soldiers slaughtered, and Surtur destroys Asgard as well as its foundation, the ending most likely hints Thanos and Infinity War, which will be the MCU's darkest hour, and Grandmaster kills a guy by turning him into goo.

I half agree on Hela. It would have been nice to have the prequels delve more into her character or even hint at her existence, but I actually enjoy the lack of sentimentality they tie to her. She poses as a juxtaposition to Loki. His destructive nature and desire to rule was more of an emotional outlash; a product of his jealousy, and feelings of inferiority and betrayal. In contrast, Hela's nature IS destruction. She isn't pining for the acceptance of her father, or love from the Asgardian people. I don't even think vengeance was her ultimate goal. Her desires are the same as they were before she was banished, to conquer and kill. Her character was a striking force of uninhibited power and chaos, with no emotional ties or motivations and in my opinion that made her the perfect villain for the film.

Sif was suposed to be in the movie but because of shceduling problems (Jaime Alexander was filming her show Blindspot and couldnt make time when she was asked to film for Thor) Im sure they intended to kill all Thor's Buddys so even if it is possible she was somewhere else during everything, Im betting they probably just wont show her any more (she died in battle even if it wasnt shown)

Something I like about the MCU is its ability to tie together multiple different storylines into a finely-woven world. I really liked this movie, but it was a different movie than what I wanted to see. It should have been a dark, serious movie. That's what I expected when it was announced, way back. Me and my lady had such a blast watching this movie. The tongue and cheek throughout this movie had us grinning from ear to ear. Great action and humour; best Thor out of his series. 8.75 out of 10. Simply because some of the jokes distract from some of the more serious elements that are happening within the movie. Plus some of the effects don't look completely rendered/cheesy. Yet still entertaining enough to recommend seeing in the theater.
@Dayonder7 жыл бұрын
I gotta say this is one of the funniest, if not THE funniest, movies I've ever seen. But I think for all the major stuff that happens (Thor losing an eye, Odin dying, Asgard being destroyed, etc) it shouldn't have been as funny as it was. Like when Asgard gets destroyed, the first thing they do is make a joke about it. I mean I laughed at it, but that's not a part you should be laughing at. It should have been an emotional moment. Also I feel like Thor acted way more like Tony than himself, what with all his sarcastic, smug remarks and all. That's kinda how I feel about the whole movie. It should have taken itself more seriously for all the stuff that happens, but I just enjoyed it so much I can't even be mad.

Okay, can someone please strap Zack Snyder down to a chair and tape his eyes open, Clockwork Orange-style, and force him to watch this movie over and over and over again? Maybe then he'll finally realize that it's okay to make a comic-book movie with some goddamn color in it, that doesn't have to be completely bleak and depressing all the time. And Zack? Remember how you made Krypton look like one giant pile of dung in Man of Steel? Take a hint from this movie and from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise: you missed out on showing how vibrant and colorful an alien world can be.

Overall I liked the movie and easily is the best of the Thor trilogy. I agree, is not the best Marvel movie (not even if this year) but still is pretty fun and enjoyable. I agree with many of the points but I disagree a little bit on Hela, don't get me wrong, I loved Cate Blanchett perfomance, but I think that her character still suffers from the Marvel Villain syndrome, maybe a bigger exposition to her reasons would have been nice. The one who actually I feel that was wasted was Karl Urban, his character feel plain. Aside of these problems, Thor Ragnarok fix many problems of the previous movies, mainly about the tone of the movie, the first two movies tried to be so serious and it feel so forced, thankfully they decided for a funny approuch and it worked really well. Yes is a fun movie, but not a comedy movie, is still a superhero movie

Would be cool to have a seen where someone caught and beat Thor with the hammer Rather than crushing it. Also there was a time where the comedy killed an epic moment like remember that time where Hulk changed and stopped that alien flying slug with one punch? I kinda wished like when he jumped off we got like bruce punching down that giant wolf and we get this scene of him slowly changing slowly as he fights. But I guess ragdolling down is pretty funny to.. Also the load of BS on how the quinn jet was able to take Hulk from Earth To Skaar idk feels too easy... I did love the idea of them combining Both Ragnarok and Planet Hulk into one story. So I guess with Thor being a preety good mood we aren't getting a scene of Thor beating the living shit out of Tony like he did in the comic after finding out about civil war?... Like Thor made tony his bicth in that comic I wish we get that scene for the movies
@malindemunich28837 жыл бұрын
You mention a Valkyrie prequel, but I think we got a good idea of that. I mean, it'd be a visual spectacle, but there wouldn't be much story. What I want: A Hulk prequel. We finally got to see full-blown Hulk being Hulk in Hulk form where he talks and interacts in a very Hulk manner, something they've never come close to really doing before in any medium other than cartoon (and obviously comics). I want more! I want a movie to start with the scene where he's flying off in the Quinjet with that message from Black Widow. Show him crash land. Captured (?) and befriended by Valkyrie (they obviously had some real camaraderie there and trained as equals). Rise to being champion and his interactions with The Grandmaster and other fighters, earning him a lofty living situation. End with him crashing through the doors at the beginning of the fight with Thor. I want to see the development of Hulk, his friendship with Valkyrie, his social status with the tournament and all involved, leading ultimately to his encounter with Thor. I need this movie.

This movie shows that the MCU is in for a big change. Marvel is not afraid to overstep the line

I thought Hela's line about the executioner not only executing people but executing their vision was hilarious!! 😂😂

I'm sorry Andre but I have to disagree with you. To sum up my opinion, this movie was just as bad as Iron Man 3 and Guardians of the Galaxy 2. There are some unanswered questions like:Did Thor, who really cared about his warrior friends since the past films, actually care about them dying? How did Valkyrie escape the battle field from the epic Valkyrie vs Hela fight after her warrior friend saved her on the battle field?Did Odin just let Loki take him to earth? Why?Does the meaning of the "Who Is Deemed Worthy" of the hammer even matter anymore since apparently Hela was worthy enough to hold it in the past with Odin and STILL in the future by holding it and destroying it EVEN THOUGH she's pure evil?It had too much comedy to take away from any "serious" moment. I could go on but I'll stop my rant at this.

Top 3 MCU films I've ever seen (The other 2 imo are Winter Soilder and Dr. Strange)

Great video and cool reminder about the blue cube. Every marvel movie that comes out people are like it’s the best in the series. Thor Rag. Was fun. But in a way like If the beetle were on a NOW: that what I call music, cd. It had some good. But take that laugher away and it a lot of mini stories. Karl and Tess my fav

I saw it last night. I absolutely loved it, It was SO much fun and really funny, but I felt like it needed a little more stakes. Or at least it needed to take the stakes more seriously at times. I felt like the comedy while being entertaining also detracted from the seriousness of what was going on. I mean, Hela is a major threat, kills the Warriors 3 with little to no effort, and then there's the whole fact that Surtur completely obliterates Asgard in it's entirety. All pretty heavy stuff, but even then they pepper jokes throughout which sort of diminishes the gravity of those other elements. I mean I absolutely loved the movie but I really wish I could have felt a little more weight. The death of the Warriors 3 alone I felt was brushed under the rug so quickly. Those are characters I came to REALLY like in the last two movies.

Fair points about some of the darker moments not landing. I’m fairly certain Hela is going to be back in Avengers Infinity War as the MCU’s version of Death, who Thanos is trying to court by conquering the universe.

I loved this movie. Although, whenever Hela was onscreen, all I could think was, omg Galadriel has the ring of power and she's fucking shit up. Not that I dislike Hela of course, she's kickass.

He-Man was the main thing on my mind watching this. Fantasy / Sci-Fi. Lord of the Rings / Star Wars. It’s not hard, Sony.

I 1000% agree with everything you said here, Andre!! Definitely the best Thor movie... but yeah, no, not even in my top five MCU movies. As for Hela, I feel you. I wanted soooo much more of her, to the point where I seriously resented the Doctor Strange cameo cuz that time could've been used to establish her a little more. Like, even if when Thor was recounting his dreams of Asgard burning, he might have mentioned seeing a strange woman in his dreams too, or SOMETHING. Her arrival just felt so abrupt, as did her murderous killing spree, as did her sudden, fiery end(?). Also, this movie coulda used waaayyyy more Heimdall. Would have liked to see when Loki banished him (this is what, the second or third time Loki's done that?? Also, there's no way Heimdall would have been fooled by Loki's disguise sooooo... what was up with that?) Plus, Heimdall must have seen Hela coming, must have had even more terrifying prophetic visions than even Thor did... would have been another good establishing moment for Hela, tbh. Finally, and I hate to say this, considering that I love Karl Urban... but Skurge felt entirely pointless in this movie. Like completely, utterly useless. He may have gone through like, a moral struggle and character development or whatever, but it was so predictable and so... non-consequential. His biggest contribution (beyond "freeing" the ship with all the Asgardians on it, which, let's face it, any one of the other characters could have done) seemed to be as a sounding board for Hela's backstory/plans/motivations. I did not care the least bit when he died. Plus!!! Skurge!!! Is supposed to be the Enchantress' boy toy!!! Not Hela's!!! The MCU has a pretty bad habit of killing off some beloved characters before they really even have a chance to be, well, characters. /rant

I think LOKI stole the Terreract when he was getting Surtur's Horns to bring him back. I think THANOS found their ship because LOKI has it in his possession.

Loved the movie, characters,, villains, visuals, the story and the action, but I wish they didn't cover up what could've been emotional scenes with humor. If they didn't overuse the humor and let the characters like Thor and Bruce react to the sad and dark parts of the movie more, it would've been perfect, because the movie had dark concepts and actual consequences.

I agree with your initial statement, ift is very saturday cartoon, as far as vibe and cinematic direction, my dad even said he hated it because it felt TOO cartoony, lol to each their own, however I like that space/cosmic Marvel has just been relegated to 80s bombastic sci-fi, in terms of atmosphere.

The whole "overhype" thing is BS. People like the movie. it's an opinion, not a bloody hype. Saying something is overhyped is saying you have a problem that people liked that thing. That not a criticism, it's a lazy observation. I wish you KZbinrs would stop saying it because it's nonsense up there with "Super Hero Movie fatigue." (Yes, Super Hero Fatigue is an idiotic thing to say considering this is Marvel's 17th movie and so far they are still making money which means the audience is not fatigued. In fact, the only people who constantly claim to be fatigued are KZbin reviewers.)
@blackRXrider7 жыл бұрын
Umar Soaries it's also an opinion to not like the MCU and get tired of superhero movies. Just because something is popular and making a shitload of money, doesn't mean I have to like it. And if you think it's only you tubers getting super hero fatigue, then you're delirious. I gave up on the MCU after iron man 3.
