Riptide would be impossible to create as it defies certain laws of physics. Namely Conservation of Energy.

@@elizabethkruger2111 It most certainly would. The closest they could get to it is if they made the pen similar to their lightsaber. Even then, it'd be far too big to be a traditional pen. Even if they compressed the layout, the pen would be more like a bunch of pens wrapped together in a rubberband. The problem is that the blade would be less practical due to needing to be jointed/telescopic. There are telescopic "swords" that exist, but they'd break pretty easily if they were actually used. The goal of the channel is to make the fictional weapons real, not just make replicas that look cool.

Creating a proper riptide requires creating a medium-length (Celestial-)bronze xiphos that is still effective as a sword and can pop out of a standard capped pen and still function as a pen when you place the cap on the back of the pen. There are too many conditions to make Riptide real no matter how cool it would be. The watch from Spy Kids is more realistic (since it technically exists).
