as for the "hearing the prayers" bit.....that sadly has fallen by the wayside a LOT since the glory days when Walk Simonson was making Thor comics. go back and read thor 342-343 where Thor discovers the last living warrior of a lost colony of vikings and enlists him to take on Fafnir the Dragon. The speech he makes at the end is EPIC. *spoilers* "Elif! ELIFF! Has life fled your shattered body? can you no longer hear even the voices of the gods?" Then, WEEPING he give possibly his last true follower on earth a viking funeral of LEGEND, with the body of Fafnir that Thor was only able to vanquish because of his sacrifice laid at his feet while all of New York watched and wondered. amazing stuff.

A lot of people dont realize how much pride Thor had in Steve not as a fighter, but as a person. I doubt he ever trusted anyone as much as he did Steve. If I recall, he even called Steve the "God of Courage" at one point simply because Steve would do everything he could to fight against injustice wherever he saw it, no matter who was the cause. Thor had so much pride and respect towards Steve.

Cap stood for freedom and with it the vision of the American way (which in our reality is a fading symbol) that we are free to believe our path of life is right so long as we stand as one, we are free to have many differences and even disagree with others about theirs but a true American would help, defend and die for the freedom of another fellow American even if their way of life and liberty that follow our agreed laws and rights, even if you don't think their way is right. It is your right to live a life you believe in. No matter my position, civilian, celebrity, politician or POTUS, I couldn't call myself an American if I put my opinion of my way of life and liberty over the right, YOUR right of life and liberty. That is the American way. That was Captain America.

@chriss.249 There wasn't any real reason to split the Avengers more apart after the age of ultron. @chriss.249
@chriss.249 6 ай бұрын
@AmusedCoffee-ym3gb "There wasn't any real reason to split the avengers more apart after age of ultron" There very much was. When I saw the fight over vision, I knew it was just a precursor for what's to come. Tony and Steve don't agree on everything. If u watch A1, u can see how they disagree and are willing to throw hands. The notion u didn't think they would ever come to blows or be separated further yet u read the comics is kinda wild imo. "The fact it wasn't it's own 2 part every like infinitu war was another huge missed opportunity" I disagree. It told the story it needed and did it in a healthy amount of time. "Phase 5 shouldn't have done the multiverse" It wouldn't make sense for us not to explore it as Endgame sets up not only time, but the multiverse. I kinda find it ironic u talking huge missed opportunity yet say what u do. "Phase 5 should build up which leads to civil war" With what characters? Tony and Steve are gone. Those are the 2 with major issues. Making civil war that late in the game messes up integral moments in the story. As to make civil war, there had to be unresolved issues between the 2. They squash it in endgame, which makes sense as they take that time apart to rethink their connection, as well as Tony forgiving Steve and reuniting to reform the avengers. The narrative for it is better back then than in Phase 5.

Did they fall to the pressure of society, and go insane, or turn bitter in the face of such overwhelming odds. Or did they stand against the people who make this once lovely country a land of greed and idiocy, and get silenced because they went against their agenda. Either way, this country was built: *by the people* *for the people* So, tell me, why is it, that the government tells the people how to live? Too true... We have a man who can't remember he's the president in office. We have an ex president who's been hit with false charges since he became president. We have greedy politicians. We have murderers, and people who think its alright to try and romance children. Yet, where have all the good people gone? Did they see what America was becoming, and leave, out of disgust. @@thewanderingheathen *we the people* built this country. So, the question is now, how to get people to wake up? Spreading the word perhaps, convincing others to look at what this country is becoming, to see the truth, to know the truth. To spread the truth. To look at those who lie and tell them their time is up, their web is unweaving, and *we the people* are sick of their crap. Sick of being taxed on everything from groceries to gas, only to be forced to pay taxes again. Didn't the American revolution start because England's taxes? Yet... Here we are, a couple centuries later, still paying taxes... It seems old king Henry lives again... Only now he's the president apparently, and he wishes to fund wars and send money to everyone *BUT* America. Ukraine, Israel, Palestine, ect... Not to mention the border... My apologues for the political rant, I'm simply infuriated by the state of this country...

It’s always so cool to see heroes be respected to such a degree by others. Same with heroes respecting villains. Like when Batman died during the Arkham games, a lot of the villains just wouldn’t buy it or accept it. Like you have to be legendary for someone who tries to kill you daily, to honor your memory with disbelief that someone killed you.

Cap stands for what America ~dreamed~ of being; a free country where anyone was welcome and can be happy. Now America no longer tries to be that way, maybe their government never wanted it to be that way in the first place. Perhaps the American Dream was just propaganda to get the US a good foundation. Either way Steve Rogers is the captain of a country that no longer exists, or never even existed in the first place.

@@jeggsonvohees2201 The way America is currently falling apart nationalism would be a great thing. Think of leaders who put the country and its people first instead of foreign ones. So this confuses me a little. Maybe it's two different writers on two seperate books - Brubaker during his fantastic Cap run and the man responsible for brinfing back Bucky, something that was absolutely unthinkable beforehand (like bringing back Uncle Ben - ya just dont do it). And this was pretty early on in J. Michael Straczynski's Thor run that returned Thor to glory, as well as placing Asgard floating over Broxton, OK. Maybe during this time period, the powers that be really did feel that Steve was dead, and Thor communicating with his spirit made sense. But when Brubaker and Co. start the process to bring back Steve, we find out that the gun that hypnotized Sharon used on him was some kind of special weapon that sent Steve careening through time, unable to control when and where he showed up - like Grant Morrison did with Batman after Final Crisis. But in the case of Batman, Darkseid sent him back in time and caused his subsequent travels through different time periods so that Bruce would gather all of this energy with each time period, so that when he finally comes back to the regular DCU timeline, all of that energy explodes and basically destroys everything. That is a pretty concrete plan. With Steve, it felt really convoluted. How was his dead body around in the 617 while he was physically bouncing all over time? And if he isn't dead, how is Thor able to pull Steve's soul to speak with? It has been a long time since I read that run, and I can't remember if Brubaker references that, or the whole point of Steve flying through time. Though when he comes back, after Steve's run as an agent, it is awesome to see both Steve and Bucky standing side by side in their Captain America uniforms. Anyone remember the whole "man out of time" storyline? Was Steve basically being used in the same way as Bruce, to become some kind of bomb? Or was it just the Skull getting revenge on him?

This is what Thor4 should have been about. Thor dealing with the Trauma of losing his brothers on Earth, Jane's cancer weighing on him and the responsibility to take the avengers forward and be a real leader. And Gorr, sinister and menancing baying for blood. It would have been a blockbuster if it had taken a darker gory tone.
