In this serie, with a exception of one or two "we really needed to fit that character in there" pics, they go with trio that makes sense lore-wise, so the pre-made trio of 3 playable characters who canonically works as a team would be picked. The 2nd thing to consider is that... While Ashe is pretty much universally well liked among Mega Man ZX fans while Axl is divisive among Mega Man X fans (and even then, his reputation has improved a lot outside of a few fans still stuck in Mega Man X7) , Mega Man ZX itself is less popular than Mega Man X (sadly, there's lot of "geewun" in the fandom). In terms of sheer numbers you'd probably get more people happy with Axl.

Akuma isn't someone who joins KOF teams and Sean doesn't like Dan or being compared to him so having TWO jokes in your main Street Fighter team isn't a good idea on paper when you're doing Main Teams as opposed to Special Edits.

Funny thing is is that team of Maya, Nina, and Menat. Could work with most of the Nina's actually. Nina 1's hobby is literally eating, and while she can absolutely be serious, hard not to imagine her and Maya getting excited at the idea of travel to have whatever locales have on offer Nina 2 fits very much into the big sister position. (mostly because she is) where she would be reigning in the antics of the other 2 if things ever get too far. Nina 3 is a bit more adventurous and wants to find her own place as a person, why not try a bit of a fun tournament to really spread her wings... even if shes the Nina that can't really fly. Nina 4 is a sheltered gal but shes so friendly and sweet that it's hard not to imagine her just traveling along with a bunch of friends to just experience things she never has before!.

I wish you talked about the bosses. Capcom has so many great villains to use. KoF94: Bison. Round one, he's a pushover but round two is Bison II and he is a beast. KoF99: Birkin. He starts out as a slow grappler but round two he bulks up to giant slime monster like Final Abyss from mvc2. KoF'09: Yami from _Ōkami._ You can just reuse his model and moveset from TvC. KoF'24: Akuma! But each round he shifts to a stronger form from vanilla Akuma, Shin Akuma, then Oni.

KOF 95: Ken and Shin Bison. Phase 1, Ken is a stronger version of himself from 94 with some new moves. Phase 2, Bison fights similar to his Alpha 3 look. Side note, Team WW would be Ryu, Chun-Li and Guile. And one of the teams would be replaced by Team Alpha/Zero based of SF Alpha (someone has to be the American Sports team...)

You know what was my favorite Secret Boss in the Capcom King of FIghters Saga? Umbrella Monster Dan. The fact that Wesker Figured out Dan was compitatable with the satusi No Hado and just decided to use him instead of Ryu was the Peak Twist of the Series. Especially When B.O.W. Dan ended Up merking Wesker in the same call back manner from the First Resident Evil Game.

The tricky thing with Sengoku Basara is that you HAVE to have Yukimura and Masamune. But the third slot is difficult. You could have Keiji, the third face of SB2, but they'd want to promote SB3 and its new faces, Ieyasu and Mitsunari. But Masamune hates Mitsunari and Yukimura dislikes Ieyasu. The best option would probably be Ieyasu, since he and Yukimura's differences are reconcilable, and they'd probably put their differences aside to deal with being trapped in another time period. But after this point, Mitsunari shot up popularity polls, so he'd be the one you'd have to make work in later games and that fundamentally would not work with Masamune.

Though in terms of bosses, Thorgi kinda confirmed that the first roster boss would be Bison while the second roster boss would be from Umbrella given them being like NESTS. Though I'd replace Wesker and Bison with a Mega Man boss and someone else like Pyron.

Happy anniversary! Thanks for giving everyone what they asked for, a real Capcom Fighting Jam/Evolution! And I would seriously die happy if we ever got a Team Clover! While I absolutely love what you did with these rosters, there's just one thought that was lingering in my mind. SNK not only crossed over their other franchises in KOF, but they also created KOF-specific characters, like Team Japan and Team Orochi. And luckily, Capcom already gave us 4 unique fighters in Capcom Fighting All-Stars. We can have Team Code Holder: Ingrid, DD, and Rook. With Death as the boss of the series, similar to Rugal. I know nowadays people have some disdain for Ingrid, but I think that's mostly due to Capcom Fighting Jam. If not for that game, I think she might have gotten a better reception. So have the 3 Card Holders as the main characters of this crossover franchise, and I feel that would take this video full circle. Again, I just wanna thank you for all of your entertaining videos, especially Build the Roster. You never disappoint!

Just a couple of things Pretty sure Iori was a Solo Entry in '97. So was Shingo. C KoF 13: For Team Samurai Heroes, if we were going with faces method I'd put the team as Masamune (Face of the Series), Yukimura (His Rival) and Ieyasu (The New Face) and give the Solo Entry Spot to Mitsunari (Ieyasu's Rival), or you could go Masamune, Yukimura and Oichi if you were unsure whether the new faces would make it into the team. Also, Saga Idea - Shadaloo Saga, Umbrella Saga, Demon King Saga. For third saga, you could have people trying to revive Basara Nobunaga and could even have him pull a God Rugal and beat Shin Akuma, claiming the Satsui no Hado, to become the True Demon King.

Shadaloo Saga- Bison is looking to rule the entire Capcom universe going from conquering the worlds or remaking it in his own image in a somewhat Doomsday manor like A Shadow Falls or Street Fighter TAS's finale. Umbrella Saga- Thorgi had a simple plot for that. Not gonna change much other than I could see Tyrant, Nemesis and Wesker as final bosses. Wily Saga- Personally I feel like we need an saga dedicated to Mega Man given their series of characters and popularity but given how Thorgi went for Battle Network, let's incorporate Wily from Battle Network (with shades of classic Wily since this is an alternate universe) who could serve as the Ash of the saga but with Team Netnavis or Netopia or ACDC serving as Team Elisabeth. I could see Wily trying to create robots or invent some form of extraction device similar to Ash's ability to steal powers. Although the more I think about it, maybe Zero could be the Ash of the third arc but it's Awakened Zero or something. The Fourth arc would probably be the same as XIV.

Here's my take on what we could have gotten if Capcom did The King of Fighters or as I'd see it The World Warriors. Also incorporating what we got here FYI as well as covering some of the updated versions of KOF games like Rebout and UM. Gonna divide these into Parts cuz it's Lengthy. LOL SATSUI NO HADO SAGA (based on Street Fighter lore) KOF 94 Boss: Bison (Phase 1 with Cape, AI fights like EX3/Phase 2 without cape, AI fights like Super Turbo) Though if this game got the Rebout treatment, maybe add Akuma as the "new" character. KOF 95 All teams return except for Team Shadaloo as they are replaced with Team Alpha (Team Zero in Japan). Although Team New Challengers would definitely be connected to Team Shadaloo in some way. Team World Warriors: Ryu, Chun-Li, Nash (Ken will not be part of this team this year and due to SF Alpha launching in 95, makes sense to push Charlie Nash over Guile this time. Maybe make him the leader of this year's KOF) Team 20XX: Mega Man, Proto Man, Bass (Bass debuted in 95 as a rival to MM as well as an ally. Plus he is willing to work with Rock and Blues if their foes are mutual) Team Alpha: Sagat, Adon, Birdie (SF1 and Alpha team. Shadaloo is seemingly "gone", Adon is forced to join after losing to Sagat and Birdie joins because Sagat could get him to Shadaloo since he heard word about Bison surviving 94 and is apparently hosting the tournament again). SUB-BOSS: Ken (brainwashed like in the movie as well as Saisyu in 95) FINAL BOSS: Shin Bison (Appearance is similar to damaged alternate in SF5) (I tried not to make too many changes to match both the number AND returning characters in KOF) KOF 96 All teams return along with a new one with some more changes to existing teams, including returning formations Team World Warriors: Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li (Chun-Li wears her Alpha attire as it was her main look at the time) Team Adventure: Pure the Mage, Arthur, Nina (Michelle Heart is replaced with Nina from Breath of Fire 2. I considered a rep from Dungeons and Dragons, King of Dragons, Knights of the Round and even Red Earth though that game came out at the end of 96 compared to KOF 96's release) Team Night Warriors: Morrigan, Felicia, Hsien-Ko (Before KOF 13 and MvC3, Morrigan took over as Leader of this team with these gals together especially given how these three were together for Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo in 96) Team Alpha: Sagat, Birdie, Gen (Gen replaces Adon as he joins KOF in hopes of finding worthy opponents Team Mad Gear: Rolento, Sodom, Hugo (Technically serves as both Team Bosses and another Final Fight team.) SUB-BOSS: Rose (The host of the 96 tournament, uses it to attract remnants of Shadaloo while attracting the attention of the Final Boss) BOSS: Akuma (Super Turbo difficulty) KOF 97 All previous teams return except for Team New Challengers and Alpha which will be replaced by Team Slam Masters and Special Forces/Interpol respectively (There WILL be an evil team in this but it won't be like Team Awakened Orochi) as well as some more team changes. FYI Team Mad Gear returns as Team Special (given how that team was working for Geese of Team Bosses/South Town) Also, like 97's Social Relations, I'm discarding the fan favorite thing unfortunately to keep my Team Mad Gear around and make this list easier. TEAM WORLD WARRIORS: Ryu, Ken, Sakura (Unfortunately yet still works, this will the first time we're doing Team Shoto. I was gonna have her enter by herself but I have a different solo entry in mind. TEAM SLAM MASTERS: Haggar, Alexander the Grater, Gunloc (If we did do all of these rosters, we'd definitely get one based on this team but for me, I had to push it back to this point given the other teams established.) TEAM METRO CITY: Cody, Guy, Maki (We needed to update this team and since Slam Masters finally got a spot, let's include Maki so we can have her and Guy in a team together) TEAM SPECIAL FORCES: Guile, Chun-Li, Cammy (Time for Interpol to get involved in KOF and it's only fitting to use this pairing as well as introduce Guile to KOF along with his brother Gunloc which Capcom kinda embraced around SF5) TEAM METAL HEROES: Mega Man, Proto Man, Duo (Due to the 10th anniversary of Mega Man, I'm adding Duo who could definitely work for this KOF given the whole "Evil Energy" which we could tie to Psycho Power or the Satsui no Hado) SINGLE ENTRY: Akuma (Like Iori in 97, he is by himself and a possible opponent in an edit team like other single entries) Sagat (Same as Akuma though I would make the 4th stage in 97's Arcade ladder a boss fight between Akuma or Sagat) MID-BOSSES: Evil Ryu (Basically the Orochi Iori fight but it's Ryu with the SnH) Shadow Nash (despite him being in MSH vs SF, he's still a Capcom OG given its later inclusions in SF5 and the UDON Comics, also Nash "died" in 96 just FYI) Team Shadaloo: Boxer, Claw, Dictator (As the Sub-Bosses, you'll fight these three in a fixed order) FINAL BOSS: Oni (Could go with Shin Akuma but given the whole What if in SF4, a boss fight where Akuma goes Super Saiyan and plays like he's in an ArkSys game for the finale of this arc might work) KOF 98 All previous teams return along two returning ones and a new dream team. TALES OF MORRIGAN (Darkstalkers) In terms of what I could see happen in a 2003 Capcom KOF team with an arc centered around Morrigan and Darkstalkers TEAM WORLD WARRIORS Ryu, Ken, Sean (Makes sense to put these three together especially when my other SF team is also based on SF3) TEAM SECOND IMPACT Hugo, Elena, Necro (Not gonna use Third Strike just yet but I want to make a team dedicated to Second Impact and thankfully we have Hugo and his possible team mates which were all based on who you could fight in the end of his Arcade latter which FYI wasn't just Necro. There was also Elena, Ryu and even Gill!) TEAM METRO CITY Captain Commando, Lucia, Cody (Needed to bring back Team Metro City for a main story but I wanted to make some new choices for this team so I went with Captain Commando leading the team with Lucia and Cody for back up) TEAM SLAM MASTERS Haggar, Biff Slamkovich, Gunloc (Bringing back Slam Masters only this time, the protagonist is gonna be part of the crew! And given how Alex is MIA, maybe he could be a spiritual successor to him much like how Gunloc could be a successor to Guile) TEAM JUSTICE Sakura, Akira, Tiffany (Seeing how 2003 had a High School Girls team and Capcom has Rival Schools, make it both by adding Ryu's #1 fan with Little Biker Sis and rejected SF3 character) TEAM ELECTOPIA/NIHON MegaMan.EXE/ProtoMan.EXE/GutsMan.EXE (I was gonna put in Roll but I went with GutsMan since Dex was more involved with assisting Lan in the games, at least in BN3 and is a skillful enough operator to work with Lan and Chaud. Also BN4 came out at the time so it makes sense to have two Double Soul Navis from opposing versions supporting this with Guts representing Red Sun and Proto representing Blue Moon.) TEAM RED EARTH/WAR-ZARD Leo, Tessa, Mai Ling (Given how Monster Hunter didn't exist yet, I felt that this team should stand in for our fantasy team. Also went with Mai Ling/Tao over Kenji since she's the only one of the four who's not in a crossover fighting game of any kind so let's fix that) TEAM SPECIAL FORCES Chun-Li, Jill, Linn Kurosawa (We need another Special Forces team. I admit making Chunners the leader is subjective but let's make this a SF the Animated Series situation where she's in charge of this operation and recruits/is stuck with Resident Evil and AvP license.) TEAM NIGHT WARRIORS Morrigan, Felicia, Hsien-Ko (Ngl, I think this is the best pairing for a story centered around Morrigan plus we don't have to have Morrigan be a solo entry in KOF 13.) SINGLE ENTRY (Given how Kyo and Iori entered as single entries though these two won't be part of the true ending, just have their own individual endings) Dante (Despite DMC2 being a letdown, it came out at 2003 so "perfect synergy" I guess also, maybe this could've been the blue print for MvC3 Dante) Zero (Unlike the last arc, this one is based off of the recent MMZ games though unlike SvC Chaos, his moveset will be based on Zero 2 since that came out in 2003 before KOF did meaning he'll have EX Skills and less Cyber Elf stuff unless it was Zero 4 we used) MID-BOSS Donovan (Given Donovan's abilities as well as the fact that he was another antagonist to the heroes in the American Darkstalkers cartoon, it makes sense to make him the mid boss especially since this is a Darkstalkers Arc and more ahead) ALT. FINAL BOSS Demitri (Like Adelheid, he'll be the host/fake final opponent as a sort of nod to him being the host of the first DS game but like SvC Chaos, he'll go Midnight Bliss on everyone.) SUB-BOSS Anita (Like Chizuru, she'll be your penultimate opponent though in this case, she'll test your abilities to see whether or not you'll be able to help stop her friend from what's about to happen) TRUE FINAL BOSS Dee (If anyone recalls Build the Roster involving Darkstalkers 4, apply that to Dee. Also Donovan survives the battle but his power is ultimately drained by a new threat and apparently, Morrigan is connected to this threat) KOF 11 (Time for the weird roster along with PS2 Exclusives from Capcom Fighting Evolution because it'll help make the questionable choices easier to digest! LOL) TEAM WORLD WARRIORS Ryu, Ken, Sean (Initially I was gonna get weird with World Warriors but I'm gonna keep a couple of pairings especially when we could expand their story in this game.) TEAM NIGHT WARRIORS Morrigan, Felicia, Hsien-Ko (Similar to Team World Warriors) TEAM CWA Gunloc, Great Oni, Titanic Tim (Here's another odd pick but it's one that requires some explanation: these three actually were a trio of villains in the American Street Fighter cartoon aka the one where they fight mutants in the sewer. So I could see a scenario where these wrestlers were brainwashed into fighting for the bad guys or something Darkstalkers related.) TEAM BWA Scorpion, Rip Saber, The Wraith (Since Slam Masters had heel wrestlers, let's make a team dedicated to that especially if they used KOF to try and take out CWA.) TEAM JUSTICE Raizo, Hideo, Kyoko (For Rival Schools, I'm gonna go with Team Justice High School with Batsu's Dad taking over with Hideo and Kyoko joining the team especially given how both of them ended up in Namco x Capcom) TEAM SAIKYO DOJO Dan, Sakura, Blanka (This HAD to happen at some point so why not the weird KOF not finally debut this team?!) TEAM NETNAVIS Mega Man.EXE, ProtoMan.EXE, Colonel.EXE (Given how 5 and 6 were a thing at the time and how prominent Colonel was in these games as well as EXE Stream and Beast (which we never got overseas but Japan did and they're making this so w.e.) TEAM SPECIAL FORCES Chun-Li, Leon, Lin Kurosawa (Bringing RE4 Leon with Lin from AvP/Ninjutsu for this mashup of special forces) TEAM DRAGON Ryuu, Nina, Katt (We need to give Capcom's first RPG a team and while we already have a Ryu, let's make this the KOF where we had two Ryus who weren't from the same series even though we COULD rename Ryu to "Ryuu" and no one would care that much. And while he and Nina vary, I'm definitely picking Katt/Rinpoo from the 2nd game for the third spot) TEAM ADVENTURE SonSon, Perceval, Sara (Bringing back Team Adventure but for this team, I'm having SonSon from MvC2 to represent Son Son, with Perceval from Knights of the Round and Sara the Amazon from Magic Sword.) TEAM NIGHT HUNTERS Anita, Donovan, Lord Raptor (We need a rival team for Morrigan but I'll be honest, it's not that needed but I could see Anita getting Donovan to form a team with Hsien-Ko to hunt down any evil Darkstalker activity or something going on in this tournament.) It's kinda boring but again, these three were initially just alternate versions of existing characters in KOF 13. Plus Evil Ryu serves as the Akuma of the game) DarkMegaMan.EXE (MegaMan.EXE who uses powerful Dark based attacks but has low health) Lilith (You know those single entries 13 had? Well one of those was reserved for the final boss, a third version onof himself; KOF is weird. Well since we're giving all three spots to three new characters especially when Morrigan isn't a solo act in this hypothetical universe, let's give regular Lilith (a Morrigan clone, gameplay wise) this treatment.)

But rather than make Phoenix Wright work or make Team Prosecutor which FYI would've been Franziska, Blackquill and Nahyuta, I'm gonna make a team based on the Apollo Justice trilogy.) MID BOSS Victor Ortega (Given Antonov in KOF 14, it makes perfect sense to have the CWA champ challenging the teams in a 3 on 1 battle to prove that HE is the King of Fighters. Especially given how long it took to get 14 so I'm just gonna say that during that time Ortega managed to discover new heights of power, returned to the ring which lead to him reclaiming/maintaining his belt and announcing KOF) BOSS Necalli (I need someone to serve as a final boss and since 14 was the game where we didn't really have a major story or a well defined hero even with Shun-ei and IMO Necalli needs a second chance as the boss of this game) SEASON 1 Rashid (We need another SF5 rep and admittedly, Rashid is one of my personal favorites and would be fun to have.) Zero (We need more Mega Man and between him and Tron, I went with the bigger fan favorite IIRC) Rouge (I wanted to bring a Power Stone character into this but out of everyone that wasn't Falcon, I had to pick Rouge). Hauzer (I was gonna bring Kenji in but aside from not wanting another ninja character, I felt that maybe players controlling a dinosaur character would be cooler and worth trying out if we had time and money compared to CFE) SEASON 2 Strider Hiryu (We need another legacy character and since there's no Team Ninjutsu, Hiryu is going solo this time) Viewtiful Joe (Since Team Viewtiful isn't around, Joe's coming back solo with some assists and such from Sylvia and Jr.) Vergil (Of course he has to be DLC if he's a solo entry as well as broken AF) Captain Commando (He'll end the DLC run as his own character and he'll just play like he did in MvC, complete with him calling upon his team for attacks) KOF 15 Mid Boss: Violent Ken (fights similar to his SvC and Ultra SF2 versions) Final Boss: JP* (Maybe not him exactly but we could fight a boss similar to him or his fighting style. I admit I don't want to do another SF boss after the last game but I think it works well here) Season 2 Ken (SF6 version, he'll be our season opener) Frank West (Dead Rising still has them fans and he'd be another interesting single entry) Sanada (Bring back some Sengoku representation with Samurai Rekka over here) Saki Omokane (Wanted to throw in another lesser known Capcom character that some folks remember and Saki was in MvC1 as well as Tatsunoko vs Capcom as a fighter) Astaroth (I want to add another Ghost n Goblins character but instead of Arthur or Firebrand, I went the boss himself) Asura (Easily one of the most requested and expected for this idea. Great way to end the season IMHO) BOSS CHALLENGE/SPECIAL DLC Victor Ortega (If we're talking Boss characters for a challenge mode, Ortega has to come back for Season 1. Though maybe make him a challenge compared to Rugal but not Goenitz hard.) Bass.EXE (Another Boss character would could give players a hard time especially in Battle Network.) Special DLC: Dan, Blanka (For these choices, I went with characters some probably wouldn't have ask for at this point even though one of them is Dan Hibiki and wouldn't think these would end the run of DLC but it makes sense especially when it'll make a lot of folks happy and they're associated with someone in this roster: Sakura.) And maybe, a Disney-centric King of Fighters too. As opposed to Warner Bros. and Paramount Global's attempts on making a Cartoon Mascot-focused Crossover Fighting Game being Smash Bros. clones, I picture Disney's take to be more in line with King of Fighters. That means there would be themed Power Trios such as Team Mickey and Friends (Mickey, Donald and Goofy), Team Teen Heroes (Kim, Randy and Max), Team Junior Playhouse Heroes (Captain Jake, June and Miles Callisto) and yadda, yadda, yadda.
