Think lots of analysis relating to money situation missing: - you have good economy, enemy doesn't -> maximize round impact by taking exit kills - similar economy -> enemy unlikely to chase, just hide as far as possible - enemy has much better economy -> enemy likely to chase fully, you have to take "stupid duels" or try sneaky kills because you are likely to die anyways Of course time remaining affects the last two.

Thorin is getting a Guru :D I love to see his growing confidence in debates and this videos where he just speaks to a camera all from beeing an insanely good analyst and even become better and better by taking totally passionated incredible amount of research and effort into every single aspect of his work. And come on whereelse can you watch aging a thorin clone insanely fast in just a couple of months and then getting recycled by a fresh teenager version? :d
@the_bottomfragger7 жыл бұрын
I totally agree, it's painful to watch sometimes. It's the urge of many players to always want to make a play and get some frags but in the end it just puts you at an unnecessary risk. Also if there are 3 people saving and one decides to peek aggressively, the enemy team will instantly hunt down all of the remaining players. If you want to save, don't give away your position when the bomb has only been ticking for 10 seconds, it doesn't make any sense. But I guess pros still do it because CSGO is an extremely forgiving game in the sense that it won't make such a huge difference if you end up with a pistol force or 3 rifles in the following round. There's no other way to explain how teams like FaZe do an absurd amount of these mistakes and still are so successful.

During a sports competition the percentage and data usually goes to shit for the most part. When you are ingame you have a certain feeling about the game, which the lowranked viewers cannot understand. When pro players go for clutches they feel their opponents and try to make the best plays based on that feeling. That's why you see teams sometimes play with no respect. They feel their opponents pressure is very low and it's no point in holding back waiting for them. What's most entertaining about this is that the teams' pressure is not constant, but erratic to a certain extent. That's what makes games back and forth when two teams of different calibers face each other, even though on paper there should be a clear cut winner.

I think pros play more with their emotion than with their brain, which might be a good thing for some of them such as s1mple, playing with his cockiness and confidence. Objectively, saving would be best to hedge your bets to win the game, but I think the human element will always overshadow raw meta/strategy. It worked for fnatic back in the day, and hotheads will probably always hold the madfragger role, which is too crucial an element to work off the meta in every game.

nobody ever really factors in the reality of the situation that alot of these "pros" that are revered as gods and, even from these comments that say " pros know better" when in reality, are just regular people who make mistakes and aren't really that much more experienced than high ranking esea players, but they just got better luckier opportunities, for example they could be over confident one round and just full buy pistol armor or they could just not be very smart in general and don't think about economy, i mean pros aren't above critique and making bad decisions, i mean nobody even factors in the possibility that some of them could just be like dmg level cheaters who got carried into like fpl or whatever and they really don't know about economy because they're actually bad, but that's actually reality that that could be happening and probably is... i mean hundreds of cheaters get caught on this game daily and people here just think these pros are perfect beings lol... the tragic irony

You must be high if you think you need to play at a top level to understand certain parts of the game. You could be the smartest player in the world but not have the mechanical skill to reach pro level. Then at the same time there could be someone who is the best mechanically skilled player and would only lose 1 in 100 gun fights yet doesn't understand the games economy.
@s1mo-RBC7 жыл бұрын
QurttoRco clearly they don't because we see what he's talking about over and over. He's only been watching high level CS since most pros were in day care. You don't have to be Shox to understand CS.
@screechdrummer7 жыл бұрын
+Smeg Head that's the whole point. he literally said that when most pros are in-game they think "in the moment" situational awareness and calm, collected thinking is something that can give you a massive advantage in making these "split-second decisions" idk, most people tend to take rash decisions in-game... including myself... but off-late, more often, I consciously think about what'll happen if I take this risk or lose this weapon or dry-peek this corner and don't do it based on my previous knowledge... sure in hind-sight it may be a stupid thing to do... but at that very moment, it was a calculated play from my perspective and knowledge. (idk if that shit matters in Silver, lol, but yeah... I try to make the _right_ play whenever I do play.
@Aquificae7 жыл бұрын
Yea, I find it extremely unlikely that, at this point, none of the pros and coaches and IGL's would be aware of such improper savings lol I'm pretty sure there are variables thorin couldn't think of right here. The title for his video should be something like "why do pros save the way they do?". Should be like that every time, actually. Analysts can point out mistakes in the gameplay later on, since these happen due to the factors like the pressure of the moment, but to believe the whole CS:GO scene hasn't learned how to save and Thorin is here to teach them is just... really far-fetched
