I just picked up one Firstborn today and think I will go back to Wells Nursery in My Vernon, WA and pick up another one I was eyeing, maybe 2 more. I will keep one to experiment with. Keep us posted on the progress of your three.

Nice video, look forward to the update. I have a few firethorns. I style them clip and grow in to look like old deciduous trees like oak because the older branches don’t take to wire. I discovered that they fuse to other pyracanthas very easily which is a great hack for creating thick trunks in half the time. Keep up the good work.

Wow awesome hack! I'll have to try that! I'm sure if you can get them to fuse, it probably makes the trunk look decades older! Thanks!

Poor Man's Bonsai Poor Man's Bonsai I have started with small experiments, five/six saplings, but want to go bigger. Definitely makes for gnarly trunks.

Do you clip the thorns off?

A good way to help your plant gain vigour is to remove fruits and flowers so it invests more energy in structural growth.
