I remember how it was in the beginning . Me, cousins and Uncle and Aunt went . He never got to go again and see what it became as he died of cancer in 1982. I haven't seen images of it for Years. Thank You .

Fantastic video. Really appreciate the effort this must have taken to produce, so thank you loads. I think you may also have helped me identify my first ever roller coaster too….Space Station Zero! I had no idea that became the Flying Fish 😮

Thank you! I think a lot of people have Space station Zero as their first coaster!

I remember my first visit to Fright nites from 2011, seeing it, Swarm construction 0:01 last ride of the night this was in that year. I also remember the piece of metal steel that came off Rush and was quickly spreaded on news in 2008; few other events I may remember.

Love the video, very well done, so much nostalgia.. Have visited the park intermittently throughout the years and this has been very informative to say the least, rekindled so many memories that I thought were lost forever, so thank you for that

@@UKThemeParks I know it would have been a minor feature in the early 90s but do you know anything about the “Lady of the Lake” from Excalibur? A hand would come up out of the water with a sword, it blew my mind at the time. I could have sworn it was Thorpe Park, so any info you have would be much appreciated

@@UKThemeParks Ah thank you. I found a forum online with a discussion about it, so it's nice to know I've not completely imagined it.. One of the guys said he had a part in installing it at the park and that it worked on compressed air and came up every few minutes. Apparently it is actually still sitting there under the water all these years later! Only downside is I cannot find a video, only some very grainy photographs.. Most probably better as a memory anyway!

i went quite a few times in my youth. i recall an indoor space themed roller coaster and phantom fantasia. also cinema 180 great. typing this before watching the video, having visited last week i can't place which part contained the farm etc - is it now built on or just fenced off?
@UKThemeParks4 ай бұрын
The farm is right up the top end of the lake, not accessible anymore (or really visible) from the main park. If you were to drive into Thorpe, you can still see the area

Great video, we always used to finish on the giant helter helter in front of Space Station Zero. Do you remember the Bronco Bikes? They had a steering wheel instead of handle bars and bounced, used to smack your knees on the wheel if you weren't careful, god that hurt! 😆
@UKThemeParks4 ай бұрын
Yes! Those bikes used to be stable on many a sea front too, hated them lol

Congratulations on this Adam, with only a couple of visits in the early years to much more regular visitors since following your videos here and at Chessington, didnt know the railway was only lost fairly recently - Are we going to get a through the years of Chessington next that would be good. This helped us understand a lot more about the journey Thorpe Park has been on. P.s RMC is nothing to do with RMC for coasters is it, just a coinicidence??!!
@UKThemeParks4 ай бұрын
Nothing to do with RMC sadly! Thank you this is quite breif like our previous Chessington one compared to the next video...

Anyone else remember little boats (maybe the ones approx 3 mins into the video) but I remember them being in the lake itself and there was a big green octopus, you’d inevitably get your boat stuck on a tentacle for half your time 😅 I’m certain it was Thorpe Park, as remember the dome. I’m a 1977 baby and I recall being quite young.
