Hi from the UK. Thank you for exercises that are actually achievable for someone like myself with MS. My left side is affected, and I am recovering from a fractured metatarsal in my left foot - these exercises are a great help after being in an orthopaedic boot for 6 weeks!
@TheMSGym12 күн бұрын
Absolutely! These will help a ton for post-boot rehab.

Yesterday was epic. Thanks Coach T. I did release work last night and this morning. Then I committed to release work at least twice a day. The tightness is definitely better. Disclaimer: I’m a 6 times stroke survivor who deals with crazy spasticity in my calves. Thank you a million times for your gift and passion. God bless you.

Try using some gentle massage, warmth or cold to foot and ankle and see if you get more sensation. Also, moving the foot more will improve sensory feedback.

I have not been able to attend live yet, but I am doing the exercises at home. Anxious for the exercises you mentioned toward the end of the week for the foot turning in and also spasticity in ankles. Thank you so much for all you do!

I will in the future for sure. You can search for legs extension exercises on this channel.

This exercise day 2 -- made my drop foot leg ( right ) less heavy easier to lift.... ;-) Wonder why my left leg ( outside ) will hurt knee down to ankle ( pain !! ) .. without warning me ... sometimes lower leg(s) " shakes " when going up stairs... or steps up ??
@TheMSGym18 күн бұрын
@@edsteinmetz3328 YES 🙌! That’s awesome. Those shakes are intentional tremors from disrupted motor control. The drills this week can really help with that!

I use a calf slant board to stretch my calves every morning, which puts me into dorsiflexion. I do that standing straight up as well as doing one legged squats (hands on the dresser). Thoughts on slant boards?

Could you please tell why the foot trembles before every action taken.
@TheMSGym18 күн бұрын
@@mamathakr7462 those are intention tremors caused by disruptions in the motor control centers of the brain that connect to your foot. Focus on the release and slow sustained stretching. In the exercises over the next three days, I’ll show you how to reduce tremors! 👏

Hi Coach T When I do the seated chain exercises, my right foot turns out thus | / instead of | | 😢
@TheMSGym12 күн бұрын
That’s ok. You can either gently use a band or strap to keep it straight or allow it to gradually move in with continued stretching. Focus on releasing the muscles on the OUTER lower leg, then move it a bit more toward center then stretch. Don’t force your foot to straight. Do it gradually so you don’t freak out your brain.
@KendraLutterodt18 күн бұрын
Hey Coach T! So when I’m doing the open chain exercise my foot tends to turn inward…. I focus on keeping my foot straight when doing the stretch, is that right? Thank you!
@TheMSGym18 күн бұрын
@@KendraLutterodt yes, try to keep in straight to stretch the center of the lower leg. You could try turning your foot outward and doing the same stretch, may help reduce that inward pattern 🤓
