The swansong of the Great Western Railway's extensive 4-6-0 family. What could be described as a "Super Hall", F. W. Hawksworth's first and only big locomotives are certainly the most distinct of the GWR's two-cylindered tender engines. But was it a simplified express locomotive? Or was it the final step towards a locomotive on par with Stanier's Black 5?
