Wow. You did a LOT of QA work for RCV as you tried to figure out the issue. Hopefully, they reach out and express their appreciation. Good job Jason!

Great attention to detail to notice that wear point, and to measure the differences in diameters with your micrometer* between the wear point locations on the stock shaft and the RCV, and getting an experienced machinist with the right equipment to make the precise adjustments necessary to solve that problem- special thanks to that experienced machinist - Randy at Specialty Machining, who did a great job of literally "turning" a big problem into a no problem. *Some of your viewers may not realize you can get a really good electronic micrometer online for $30 or less; however, if precision machining is your career and your reputation, buy a great, highly precise American-made Starrett brand micrometer, or any other precision tool Starrett makes and sells and that you need for your work. Don't be too proud to check flea markets, or ask retired machinists, for used sources of these precision American tools. Since my DIY shop is always in disarray, I have acquired three of the Asian made micrometers over the years, after being given my first one by my father-in-law 25 years ago, so I can always find one of them when I need it. The best Asian ones, for my purposes, always include extra button cell batteries(with a long shelf life) and a hard case, so you're never caught with a dead electronic micrometer, when you really need it, but when a ten-thousandth of an inch will make a difference, get a Starett, keep it clean and stored in its box until you are actually using it. Air temperature in your shop will always affect your measurements, because metal expands and contracts with temperature changes. Try to keep temperatures consistent, if you can.

I have had several issues with quality and attention to detail with RCV axles on JKUR application with 37’s. Splines on outer shaft shearing inside the bell stub shaft, both sides. They did replace, but how long til it happens again? Most recently the orange plastic CV boot makes a terrible friction squealing as it turns on or with the actual axle shaft…. Great find on your part, thank you for sharing… I too am not running the dust shield in between the unit bearing and Knuckle which would probably make the thickness difference. We’ve seen that too. Also, the dust shield on a JL/JT is a bolt on and is not affected by thickness like a JK.
