This goes to show how much Barry has changed over the years. When he first started being The Flash he hated the idea of losing anyone else, he learned how to time travel, and he could have saved Nora, Henry, Ronnie, and Eddie from death, which he did but then let it go back to save everyone else, and now he knows that he can never change the timeline to save someone, he tried to save Oliver post-crisis because Oliver literally made a deal with a god to lose everything he's worked his ass off to get to save Barry. When Wells', Frost and Iris died in Seasons 7-8, Barry had to accept that they were gone, Iris was obviously more difficult but even if she had really died in 8x19, Barry wouldn't have changed the timeline, not because he's selfish, but because he knows the outcome could be 1000x worse. Barry will alwuas make the tuff calls so others don't have to suffer through his happiness

Everyone hating on Iris and saying Barry could’ve save Frost more than her. Yes but guys y’ll just have to understand, if Iris wasn’t there Central City would have been destroyed, ‘cause Barry make decision based on a future where he is happy with Iris, Caitlin and Cisco. Frost knew about the danger of saving central city not only their friends but everyone from Deadstorm, Barry could’ve done the same die on the crisis for earth to be saved. It’s how heroes act, sacrifices so people can’t loose themselves. And when caitlin tried to make frost comeback, instant of that Khione came to live and Barry came to her to stop her because she could’ve lost herself and she did until the end Khione was there. The only person that frost cared about was Caitlin safety. So sometime, the burden you have to take it alone !
