The irony is that the parking warden is actually doing something good for campers. I’d be pissed if I turned up in my camper at that spot and there was a removals van in the spot. Glancing at your van it immediately strikes you as a removal van. I don’t think you can be too annoyed to be honest, I think you’ll be fine on appeal and just have to accept that you might have to go through a few of these appeals if you wish to keep the van looking like that, no biggy.
@ThoseHappyDays2 жыл бұрын
Yeah totally, I found it funny and it swings in roundabouts. And got a good result from the appeal, so no harm
@andymcneill1674 Жыл бұрын
I have to agree here. I love this channel but you should be quite proud of the stealth side of Morgan as you actually fooled the traffic warden. 😉
@smellman75 Жыл бұрын
Yep it’s a two way street surely, you’re disguising the fact you’re a camper, you’re not really a removal van.. so when parking enforcement book what appears to be a commercial vehicle in a space reserved for campers, they are trying to keep the space free for campers… you can’t have it both ways really can you..,
@AbolitionAbz Жыл бұрын

In case you haven't already worked this out... The cleansing foot pads do *not* do anything to detox your body. They contain various ingredients and acetic acid. The combination discolours in the presence of moisture (sweat). You will get the same result if you put some distilled water on the pad and leave it overnight. Basically, you'll never find that you take a pad off and find it clear - but you may get sick of spending money. On the other hand sleep is incredibly important. If the perceived effect is a much better nights sleep by all means continue. I'm not sure that foot swabs for cocaine are actually a thing. I can't find any information on that at all however... the metabolised by products of drugs can be detected in even the small amounts of sweat, even down to the fingerprint level on the most precise tests. Technically swabs could be taken from any part of the body so there might be some reason they would use a foot swab - maybe if they need something on a really sweaty area for longer term wearing.

We recently stayed on Newgale beach overnight in our camper van, loved it and shared similar feelings and emotions, moving on to the smallest city St David’s, awesome especially the cathedral and coastal path where I accidentally put down my bag with van keys in. An extremely kind man picked it up, called cafe on beach, left his family on path and returned bag to cafe with his daughter. There are lots of kind people and we met one that day 😇. Could happily live there. Enjoy the rest of your travels. You eat so healthily ☺️xx

The island with the building on it in Tenby is St Catherine’s island, the building is on of the Palmerston Forts, the bigger island is Caldy Island, you can take a boat to Caldy there is a monastery on the island. Cracking video, brings Ba so many memories, would be a bit of a nightmare to drive to but you should have popped into Little Haven, lovely village.

As a child my favourite beach was just up from Dale called Watwick bay it was a little piece of hidden paradise. In those days you could only reach it by boat so often we would have the beach to ourselves occasionally we would have to share it with a few. It was a little peace of paradise. In the 80s they opened up a footpath so it lost its mystique of being a hidden gem. I was greedy I loved that it used to be a quiet beach.

On the other hand Tenby was positively outstanding and picturesque, and we we're lucky enough to see it bathed in glorious sunshine. A couple of stops I would suggest are Aberaeon, another colourful coastal town, and Devil's Bridge which we came across on our drive back into England ..... fantastic trip, so scenic. Ps. Beautifully filmed and edited, what a skill.

I love the way you redid your sign writing, but as a commercial driver for over 40 years, it's going to get you grief. I know you are planning on doing Europe next, a place that is so much more amenable towards camper vans, but trying to explain to a gendarme or better still a red cap, why your vehicle is marked up as a commercial vehicle but is actually a campervan might be a challenge!

I've come across this post & your channel quite late as it's 5 months old. Never mind, that's life's rhythm. I'm not really what I can call a traveler anymore. I live in a converted horse box but parked up permanently on a farm in Herefordshire. I spent 8 years full time on the road though & I'm still in touch with lots of my traveling community. A few little tips I learned. Village churches often have car parks & also outside taps to get water from. Of course don't wake up on a Sunday morning there, but otherwise your not likely to go wrong. Another great park up is forestry commission woodlands. There's far more than you might imagine & they often have picnic areas which make great park ups. on just no more than a few days. Also another one is those out of way village pubs. You'll have to come in & have a few pints in the evening but that's hardly a big ask. I've even been gifted a shower at a few. Another one you might not have thought of is industrial estates. Not very romantic I agree but think about it?. They all go home at half five & don't show up again till half eight in the morning. They'll likely not notice you till lunchtime. Also a likely place to find an outside water tap. I've been from lands end to John o' groats to isles of Skye & all points in-between & found a thousand wild or semi wild park ups. I only ever got moved on once & that was on the outskirts of Oxford. No surprise there because the university even owns the lay-bys & they don't like travelers lol. Happy new years & happy adventures.

As you head north along the Welsh coast, there are a few places that are not to be missed: Mwnt Beach in Ceredigion, The Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth, Black Rock Sands in Porthmadog (a huge beach you can drive onto), then on Angelsey there are Newbwrch beach and Red Wharf Bay. Along the North Wales Coast, you've got the lovely harbour town of Conwy. Bodnant Gardens (Nat Trust) is magnificent, as is The Great Orm in Llandudno. My home town of Ruthin is half an hour inland from the coast and is the absolute jewel of the Vale of Clwyd. And I've only scratched the surface... There are so many beautiful places in North Wales. I guess the PCN in Saundersfoot might be because of the new DVLA policy. They refuse to change your body type to "Motor Caravan" on the V5C unless it meets their new criteria, which includes having "Motorhome graphics". However, I read somewhere that DVLA claim that it's what the vehicle actually is rather than it's V5C body type entry that determines how traffic rules apply. So, if it meets all the requirements for a conversion except for the graphics, it's a motorhome for legal purposes AFAICT.

It might be different in America vs. UK but whatever your vehicle is registered as is whether or not you'll be able to challenge the fine. So hopefully you have it registered correctly as a camper van. A lot of people in the U.S. can't get their conversions insured properly especially diy builds and register and insure them as utilitarian/working vehicles which of course can cause major issues down the road....good luck and happy travels to you both 😀
