A new Sniper Elite game has been announced, called Sniper Elite Resistance. Set to release next year 2025, the story sees a new hero taking the lead role. Harry Hawker of the Special Operations Executive. This video is my thoughts and impressions of the reveal trailer, and other information I've found online.

Good players like yourself can anticipate what and where the Germans will be and act. The AI needs stepping up to be completely random. They need to be able to climb up to where you are so you never feel safe There should be at least 300 Germans on every level because sometimes you are walking through ghost towns. And finally, snipers should be more accurate - one shot at you and you are dead, at the moment they are sitting ducks really.. I love the game but it needs to be much harder to get through

If snipers were as lethal in Sniper Elite 4, that would be more challenging. And I agree to having more enemies in the missions. Sometimes it's too quiet.

Hopefully they'll increase the authentic difficulty more than SE5.

I hope they bring back Authentic Plus, or at least make higher levels of Authentic difficulty.

You know what I'd like to see in this edition? The ability to get awarded a kill in axis invasion if your opponents bug out of the game just as they get killed. The amount of time wasters /sore losers on S.E5 that I come across is mind boggling & they really ruin the game play

I really wish they would get rid of focus mode... Who the hell can see through walls.... I only play invasion, and I am getting sick of being killed by people using focus mode to see me through a wall or floor or whatever, how is that fair... How about giving focus to the invader to balance the odds

That’s a cheat in COD, isn’t it? Now, it’s standard in a modern game and called “focus mode”? WTF!

What I would love to see… 1) NEED MORE CHALLENGE - less resources, ammo - to make resource management and importantly scavenging more meaningful… 2) GEAR HAS WEIGHT - impacting movement speed and combat readiness. Therefore more thoughtful consideration given to choosing what you take and carry on you. Maybe option to take backpack that can be taken off and put back on as needed. 3) CUSTOM CHARACTERS. I love having the choice of male and female characters. Polish, French fighters. But more options to create your own… 4) GREATER ESPIONAGE OPTIONS. Ability to wear German uniforms as a disguise. Or a seduction ability for female characters, able to lure enemies off to secluded spots and then kill then would be great. 5)BRING BACK CAMOUFLAGE MECHANIC. Would be great to see a variety of different gear, clothing, and contexts and chance you camo rating. 6)BRING BACK TRIPWIRE GRENADE!

This will obviously be the 1st in the series without Karl Fairburne. Btw this dude Harry Hawker looks familiar. I think he was a playable character or skin in the last SE game.

They can't spend 3 years just reskinning SE5 and adding new maps so there must be new game mechanics like hiding in vehicles, parachuting in etc, the stuff they obviously cut from SE5. The game engine is the same one they have used for SE3, SE4, SE5, ZA3, and ZA4 (and almost certainly Atom Fall). SE4 came out about 18 months late so it looks like they had other stuff left over from SE5. Enough to do a little more work and for it to be a complete game. A lot of the work involves photogrammetry, getting texture and location photos to make the levels look authentic. Since they have the France-looking assets already from the previous game, it'd be silly not to reuse them. I think it's a clever move to use Harry instead of Karl as it means they can have a parallel story without war nerds complaining that Karl can't have been there at that time because he should have been somewhere else. Currently, the only disappointing part is that it's still compatible with Xbox One and PS4 so the game will be restricted as it has to work on 12 year old consoles. It still makes me laugh that Harry Hawker, the quintessential Londoner is voiced by a German guy. I'm surprised you have only played SE3 through once. Many of us think it's the best one.

After playing SE1, I didn't play the sequels until well after they were released. So I didn't spend much time on them. SE5 is the one that I played near after release and have continued to play it since. So I guess that for me is my favourite. I hope they add a lot more new features to SE Resistance, and bring back some much loved ones from previous games.

@@DazAction I got into Sniper Elite when 4 was released. When I completed it, I went back to SE3 thinking the step back would be unbearable but it was really no different except the maps were a bit smaller. As the maps have got bigger with SE4 and SE5, it's like Rebellion have just spaced everything out instead of making use of the space. SE3 felt like there were more enemies as they were packed in tighter and there were scenarios that happened when you completed a mission like a load of tanks or awesome snipers would arrive and you'd be unexpectedly thrown into that, usually with limited ammo and resources. Then I went to SE V2 Remastered and after 10 minutes I turned it off and never returned.

Adapting to the time-sensitive missions won't be easy for me. I play these games very slow and methodical.

I don't think they will be too difficult, and should be easily completed no matter your playstyle.

Hope they do a much better job with the multiplayer this time,SE5 was shocking, Mechanics are really bad and felt really slow compared to the previous two titles,Hope we can have more options in the game this time and more maps after all people play the multiplayer more than anything else so fingers crossed liking what I’m seeing so far but we’ll have to wait and see before I pull the trigger.😎🤜

4 had better gadgets wheel. 5 was good but using a automatic rifle was a joke. + in reality the Germans had better snipers and fieldcraft, we learned a lot from them after the war.

I would assume since this is a new game, you would have to start from scratch and unlock everything again. Especially as we now play a different character in a different location in France.
