Thoughts on fitting the new WIDI Jack to my Pedals.

In this video I’m hoping to answer as many questions about the physical size and flexibility of the new WIDI Jack.
This has raised some good questions so far in my group the Line6 Midi Mad Scientist Club.
I’ll give my findings below so read on if you like .

Let’s have a look at this WIDI Jack then.
To me this is way more flexible, can fit a bit easier under your board and has a similar if not slightly smaller size than the Quicco Mi units. The Quicco were my first midi Bluetooth dongles and I still use them all the time. The WIDI stuff is of course backward compatible but things have now advanced considerably.
The WIDI allow you to use wireless directly at much higher speeds and over much greater distances. Bluetooth 5 is a massive advance and the WIDI very shortly will also work in a point to multipoint network, all on their own.
You’ll find a constant stream of communications about this and a new app which will allow individual configuration. Check out the CME & Xkey group, I’m a moderator there and do testing on these on behalf of the WIDI community.

CME has a preorder sale going on for the WIDI Jack at the moment, just took the plunge & ordered a bunch for the studio. Should be shipping end of Jan 2021.

So if I have a widi jack on each of my pedals I can control all pedals plus onsong as normal from my mc8?

Yeah exactly, but not one on every single pedal, depends on your board, but normally you can have one on the controller side, and one going to a hub or to a daisy chain on your board. This usually does it for me, 1 per sub board.
