Videogame grading is going crazy too - I've never met a person irl that is at all interested in collecting graded or sealed product. Think it's overhyped rn and that it's gonna crash down to actually meet demand

I've always had a hard time finding value in graded cards because it's purely based on someone's opinion in a third party company. If konami did it themselves (not that I recommend it), I would at least feel more value in it

I can't ever see myself getting into graded cards (Maybe at some point I'd buy a graded card if it was sentimental to me or something). I like to collect but I consider myself a player of the game first so I personally don't see the appeal of owning cards I can't use. I also view tcgs as a hobby, not an investment.

I don't care for psa cards. I typically go for lightly played at worst and am happy with that

Wouldn't be surprised if the hype for TCGs dies in the future. The prices for a lot of these cards are comically high right now.

Facts! Tcg’s have gotten a bit too mainstream

it doesn't matter if i spent 400 dollars on a deck if no one is willing to buy the cards inside it now. (Gyze premium deck for Vanguard, for context)

Graded cards are just an investors way to corner markets on a handful of cards they buy lp/nm get those cards graded then cut people off of PLAYING the cards because everything that’s left is beat up cardboard. Artificial inflation
