Ariel, you are an amazing soul and express yourself perfectly. I count it a blessing to have stumbled upon your video of storing seeds several months ago. The world has weighed me down the past few months and I've found a refuge each evening watching your many experiences at the tiny house. Thank you does not begin to encompass my deep gratitude 🙏. May you, Clay and your homestead be blessed beyond measure. 😘

I totally agree with your opinion, dear Ariel, its all a holy cycle here on earth (and maybe in the whole universe). I really do hope for all of us, that we can return to live a life, that will make things better and follow these cycles more and more.

I truly enjoyed listening to your personal testimony of your ideas of life and death. The benefit I received in listening to you speak is that as long as we are to live here on this earth we should be good stewards of our time, talents and resources as long as we live in harmony with all of creation. I absolutely love plant life and feel so close to nature when out walking through a woods. Love watching the tiny home movement and the homesteading environment. I do find great joy and comfort in the knowledge that there is even more beyond this earth and time her. I do Believe there is a Creator named God and His Son Jesus Christ and a Precious Holy Spirit who comes into our heart upon believing and receiving Jesus into our hearts. Love this scripture. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou sha

I was only discussing the physical world, cells, and bodies here. I guess to me those are clearly separate things from a spirit or soul, but I didn't really clarify that because it didn't occur to me while I was talking that some people don't see it that way.

Dearest Ariel, thank you for sharing how you feel on this crucial topic. I entirely resonate with what you say. Here in a big city with no opportunity to grow anything for now I tend to prefer consuming organic veggies but in the context in which you are and I will hopefully be one day, it makes complete sense. When respect and benevolence are there in the intention, even when giving death, we are aligned with life. The rest, to me, is either malevolence (a lack of consciousness) or hypocrisy. Thank you for this reflection on that endless cycle of life that reminds us of our choices and humility in this beautiful chain in which we are all one.

It's beautiful, how life, the real life you live, teaches us how to look at the world, an outlook, a philosophy. It's so simple, isn't it: we should either understand that we are all one, animals, plants, soil, humans or it won't work. I feel so good, being related closer to nice smart people, like you, thousands of miles from me than to most people next door.

I am late commenting, but I just want to say thank you for this video and your thoughts. They inspired, affirmed ... I am not finding the right words. I am a few months from 67. Over the years, grandparents, aunts, uncles, father have passed. My mother is 87 and currently in a horrific situation. But the losses that have affected me most have been the loss of the dogs and cats that have been part of my life. It never, ever gets easier but each one has brought so much joy into my life as well as they have all taught me so much, so I continue to risk the incredible heartbreak of loss to experience the joy of their companionship and the lessons each has to impart. And somewhat daily, I remind myself than none of us is guaranteed another sunrise so we (I) had better make the most of today's!!! I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your young brother: condolences to you and all of your family.

Those pine needles inside the log were so cool! I love your first choice, about what you want to happen to your body when you die, and you’ve given me something to think about, and research how to go about this. I thought my first choice was donating my body to science, but since they pump you full of chemicals to preserve the body for some time, then there wouldn’t be the option afterwards to compost. Yes, your reasoning about raising animals to eat makes so much more sense and is so much more humane.

Ariel,u made perfect sense. When I pass my family knows I am not to be embalmed but instead wrapped in a cloth and buried that same day. I've checked into it, and it can be done. U just have to follow certain regulations. I want to know that I will one day help bring life once again, as nourishment for plants and trees and insects. When we grab a hand full of soil, just think of all we hold. We hold life itself. It is a beautiful way to look at it and I find peace that way. U are a wise woman. Blessings to u and all.

I loved this talk. I am a mortician my job is death I saw a lot of death as a child from people and pets and I feel like my job chose me in a lot of ways. We are trying to get more eco-friendly options out there, I personally love the idea of human composting we come from the earth we should go back to it. But this is a very similar thought process to what I have around death I want to know about the life involved and I want to make sure that the life left behind (in terms of my job would be families) can live as happily as possible. I have some pets and it's never going to be easy to let them go but I hope that their life was happier with me in it and I know that mine is happier with them and hopefully by the time I go I can just be put in the ground no embalming or casket or cremation just my body being returned to the earth

Great video Ariel. Coincidentally I have been pondering these same thoughts these last couple of weeks. My hubby and I have been organizing our wills. I live with a disability with the likelihood of a not pleasant ending to my life, so I wanted to make sure I had end stage of life decisions firmly in place. This obviously leads to thoughts I have all the time about quality of life...... What is quality of life. For some people living the life I am forced now to live would be untenable, while to me, I still feel like I have much to offer my family by way of love and joy.... with a bit of knitting thrown in! I think there are so many things that are unquantifiable and just are! Life and death come to us all regardless of the reason.....it just is!

And your husband and you seem so very happy together. We know that he was very hesitant to form the bond of marriage with you or anybody else, but it appears that he feels very happy, and glad that he made the decision that it was the right time, with the right woman. Marriage has changed you for the good. We can tell it in your relaxed positively. Your appreciation and mutual love for one another shines like a lone star. And I swear that you have grown even more prettier and softer than you already were. You use to be very interesting and informative to view. Now you are very fun and entertaining along with interesting and informative. And your husband, when he agrees to be on, is the cherry on the top. So happy for your both.....hugs🤗

Ariel, I think you did a truly wonderful job explaining your thoughts and I very much agree with your sentiments! I do take issue with people who think eating plants only (to the point of being wasteful and not caring about the circumstances they were grown in) is a more superior lifestyle. There are plenty of experiments that show how plants don't just communicate within their own species but also with other species through their root systems as well as chemical transmitters. I mean our nervous system depends on neurotransmitters which are chemicals as well. Us humans tend to think we are "the crown of creation" but the majority of us does not even realize that our very existence is dictated by the microbiome in our gut. I think the way you treat EVERY life with respect and recognize how we can either be parasites or contributors to an ecosystem is the right way to go.

In my opinion, you have a very realistic, healthy view of the cycle of life. I live deep in the woods and we live a very self sustaining life style. Ducks, chickens, huge gardens, wild foraging, and wild game. Like you, I am often asked how I can kill a creature that I think is beautiful and that I love. Well, I know that I did the best I could to enhance that creatures life during its time. I also use every single part of that animal! Plus I’m far more contentious of the injustice of wasting any part of that animal. We don’t throw away leftovers, or any part of that critter. I tan the furs and make mittens, hats and blankets, I boil the bones and make broth, the fats get rendered, the undesirables get fed to chickens, cats, and other creatures on the homestead. I reflect on that animals sacrifice every time I eat of it or use it’s hide to stay warm. And, anyone who lives in nature can attest to the brutality of a death in nature! Thanks for your chat. I think you articulated yourself beautifully! ❤️
