There's already word around the country that these are staying on the lot they're not able to sell them as fast as they thought because people are not willing to spend 50 to 60,000 in an SR5 when the last generation you could pick one up for under 40

Yeah, I’m hearing the same thing. I was actually at a local dealership and easily counted seven unsold units. my hope is that over the next year and change we experience price decreases or larger and larger incentives. I want one, but 50+ thousand for midsize pick up truck is insane.

I like my third gen and if I was going 4 turbo I’d probably go with the Colorado. Toyota prices are overpriced nowadays imho

I agree, prices have gotten out of hand. I think as more and more dealers sit on more and more inventory there’s going to be massive price cuts in the form of manufacture incentives

3:25 sounds like you're just pitching the truck as if you were a Toyota dealership salesman or something lol. Could you say the same thing for the 2022+ Tundras that are reported to develop spun bearings before the 50k mile mark?

No salesman over here just a Toyota fanboy. I guess you’re right only time will tell but it is a fun truck to drive.

I don't see that 4 cylinder turbo lasting 3-400k+ miles like gen3 V6.

Yeah, it seems unlikely. But you never know with Toyota.

Up here in western canada , dealers have a ton of stock and are starting to discount 2-3k off msrp because they aren't selling . word is travelling fast about how much of a disappointment these new Toyota trucks are . not to even mention how crazy pricing is . Toyota needs to check themselves with the tundra and Tacoma

I hear ya, a 10 to 20% price correction is definitely needed. My main concern is reliability, let’s see if Toyota can pull through with this four-cylinder turbo other than that I was a fan of the drive over the last week.

I actually got drive a 24 TRD offroad in the mountains for bit this weekend. I was very impressed with the throttle response and low end power. That been said. I still wouldn’t trade my 23 Pro-4x V6 for a turbo 4. Not to mention $10000 more. Not for me but it was fun drinking it.

1000% the V6 at this point has tried and true. But that turbo four in day-to-day traffic it’s pretty special. That being said price increase is not justifiable.

This truck will never shake off its reputation as the pool boys cart of choice. The Hilux on the other hand…

No dying The Hilux is a superior truck with the diesel powerplant. I’ve driven them in the harshest conditions overseas.

I’m sorry, did you say this tin-box 4cyl turbo drives like a Porsche??? You are really talking nonsense. Toyota is all about cost cutting (they are not alone). No, it’s is not all right for a $48k truck to not have soft close tailgate.

Yeah, I guess that might’ve been overkill!What I meant to say is it’s a pretty planted & drivable pick up truck. I drove it to the LA Canyon wish I would’ve recorded. Have you had a chance to drive the new model?

Dude I respect this but you're full of it Don't tell me that this Toyota Tacoma is better than last generation I don't care if it's zippy nobody buys a truck for speed they buy a truck for a power and torque no four-cylinder is better than a 6 cylinder straight that it's going to give you 400,000 mi and then on top of that they raised a price about 20% not a chance there's a reason why these are sitting on a lot this is going to be a generation that's doesn't sell very well and Toyota's going to learn their lesson

I’m with you price increases are insane. Best Bang for buck is the V6 all day. However, having driven this one for the weekend… I’m a fan. If you haven’t already, I would recommend taking one out for a test drive. I’m really looking forward to test driving a manual. You’re also correct. I’ve been seeing a bunch of them on dealer lots just sitting only time will tell.
