Mid size long box trucks are Goldilocks. I own a '17 Canyon CCLB and it is awesome. That said, the long box option was only another $300 and the truck was 36.5K, which was a lot at the time. 53K isn't gonna happen for a Tacoma, and an entire generation (Gen Z) has effectively quit buying new cars. My 26 year old daughter is a perfect example, she drives an '07 Ford Escape which we keep running. I won't let her lease a newer car as that is a financial treadmill I don't want her getting on. Take a look at Autozone's stock (AZO). Not giving a stock tip here, but just look at their long term chart. It has relentlessly marched higher because people see the value in keeping older cars on the road. A new transmission on an older car is expensive but it no longer looks like a reason to take it off the road when ya look at the insane prices of new cars. Plus a lot of the older vehicles are simpler and easier to keep running.

I live & work in the area of this dealer, Hampton VA. The sad thing is this truck was only on the lot for a day or two before someone paid the markup & it was sold.

The best thing Toyota influencers could do is feature vehicles on lots of bottom feeder dealers.

Toyota jumped the inflation gun this time. They are trying to take advantage of the inflation boom but people aren’t ready to pay that kind of money yet. Need more time for them to get used to high prices.

This is a great deal on a great truck. I won’t be buying it personally, but I fully support the dealership in adding even an additional $1,000,000 markup on each unit.

LOL. My 23 SR5 longbed in Silver has all the same stuff except the winter package which I don't need where I am at. Got the V6 4wd for 41 grand. I'll take the V6 over the turbo crap. I got it tuned with OTT and it has plenty of low end power now and smooth quick shifting. I had to drive 6 hours to get the truck but I didn't pay any markups. I remember when paying at MSRP was considered being ripped off now we got these crazy markups. TFL just had their brand new 24 tacoma lose 4wd on a mild course. 53k is more than my dad paid for a loaded Chevy 2500HD Crew Cab with 4wd and the 6.6 gas engine. That was a few years back when they still had the 6 speed autos.

I watched that blue tacoma just spin its tires, til they spun no more! 😂😂 they weren't lying, they actually broke it this time! 😂😂😂

Looks like the one TFL has. The front diff. failed 1st time out on the trail.

I ordered a 2022 Tacoma Limited w 6 ft bed in Dec 2021 for $45k. No dealer markup. The Limited is a loaded SR5 basically. I thought that was too much but this makes it look like a deal.
@revnation_auto10 ай бұрын
Yeah they need to step up the limited. Go sit in a GMC Canyon Denali and then go back into the Tacoma. I’d take the Canyon
@mrk821210 ай бұрын
@@revnation_auto I was a GMC owner trying to buy a Canyon when I was looking for a truck. The dealership would not take an order for anything but white or black, the two colors I specifically did not want. Later I went online, and put together a vehicle on the GMC website. GMC said to go to the dealer to finalize the order. The dealer again said no, cant do it. That is how I ended up at the Toyota dealer. There are som disappointments in the Tacoma, but overall I like it and have no plans to get something different. This was in the late fall of 2021 at the height of the jacked up car market. I sold my Terrain for twice what it would have been worth in a normal market.

I bought my 18 Tundra for 45k with added leather seats running boards heated front seats 125,000 mile warranty and still felt like it was too much. Just cracking 100,00 miles. I used to trade 'em in every 3 years just to keep it fresh. I'm keeping this one.

Thanks for a great educational video on the cost of the new Tacoma SR5. I agree, a great truck but $56,000 for a basic truck (any brand) is Crazy pricing. Citizens unite and do not pay that crazy high price for your truck. Carry On Sir!

I bought a new 22 Tacoma Sr access cab black 4x4 without the jump seats in back. Paid off. Love the suicide doors lots of space back there without seats. Heard the 24 access cabs got rid of the suicide doors, so flip up front seats to get access to the back😮😮. I'll probably keep my simple 4 banger 2,7 I4 for a long time. Six foot bed comes in handy as well. No turbos for me. Love my all black Tacoma Sr access cab. Simple truck for my simple needs.
