The banks don't really care about the collateral, when they write a loan they create money out of thin air. what they want is for you to continue paying on it so they can collect the interest on it. The last thing they want to do is repo the truck, that costs them more time and money and then they have to sell it. If something happens and you have trouble making your payments they will work with you on it. believe it or not they really don't want the vehicle.

Mid size long box trucks are Goldilocks. I own a '17 Canyon CCLB and it is awesome. That said, the long box option was only another $300 and the truck was 36.5K, which was a lot at the time. 53K isn't gonna happen for a Tacoma, and an entire generation (Gen Z) has effectively quit buying new cars. My 26 year old daughter is a perfect example, she drives an '07 Ford Escape which we keep running. I won't let her lease a newer car as that is a financial treadmill I don't want her getting on. Take a look at Autozone's stock (AZO). Not giving a stock tip here, but just look at their long term chart. It has relentlessly marched higher because people see the value in keeping older cars on the road. A new transmission on an older car is expensive but it no longer looks like a reason to take it off the road when ya look at the insane prices of new cars. Plus a lot of the older vehicles are simpler and easier to keep running.

I want a mid-sized truck, but staying with the 2017 Forester with a hitch... Utility trailer does more than that truck bed, and doesn't require a huge workout to load/unload due to it being much closer to ground level. Bonus, the trailer requires very minimal upkeep when not in use.

Even if I was in the market, there’s still no way I’d pay that! I’m really not a fan of these anyway, they still look extremely outdated to me both inside & out.

What looks outdated about it? This is actually the first tacoma they made huge changes to.

@@270eman Still looks insanely similar, they need to update it more. The design, electronics, etc are all extremely outdated. It’s not 2015 anymore.
@270eman2 ай бұрын
@@2H2521 Update it to what? Your options are physical buttons or a giant ipad screen. Personally I would rather have the "outdated" buttons. Having everything buried in menus is a fuckin hassle. To me its retarded to think that every vehicle needs some giant redo every few years.

I have a 2018 Tacoma SR5 with some upgrades but not a lot. I paid brand new less than $33,000. I will never ever ever pay that kind of price for an SR5 let alone a Trd pro.

I'll stick with 1997 Toyota Tacoma with 248,000 miles on it and still running strong. The oil changes have been done religiously since new. The radiator failed at 200,000 miles ... the engine did not overheat. I had to put a replacement transmission in it two years ago and my mechanic found one that only had 60,000 miles on it. My original transmission could not be rebuilt ....it was scrap. I'll also keep my 2004 Toyota Tacoma SR5 X-cab that had 120,000 miles on it when I bought it 7 years ago for $9500. I've put just over 3000 miles since I got it. It's great not having vechicle debt and I plan keeping it that way!

Toyota tax ,simply because rabid Taco fans will pay it. That's on top of the increasing profits from making them in cheap Mexico. Toyota is GREEDY.

I was going to buy myself a 2024 Tacoma this month for my retirement. Toyota has absolutely lost their minds with these prices and market adjustments. In fact all car dealers are asking way too much for new vehicles. 3/4 ton Chevy Trucks are priced in the $70,000 - $80,000 range and with a diesal engine they are almost $90,000. No wonder used car prices are so high. Good video thanks for getting right to the point.

Anyone know if you still have to subscribe to service to use remote start after the one year trial expires? I really like the looks of the upgrade and want a long bed. What I don't want is a Turbo and the crazy price! I was looking online yesterday and thought the '24's were running much higher than '23's but wasn't sure as I'm looking at other brands. I guess as they say, "if ya wanna play, ya gotta pay"...no thanks, I'll pass for now. Thanks for the video.

I honestly prefer the Canyon AT4, Colorado Trailboss, and Frontier Pro-4X over the new one. 23 TRD OR may have a decent discount on them now if you’re looking at keeping with Toyota but it’s basically the same truck you have

I enjoyed the review, really down to earth commentary. Just like the housing bubble, and all the recessions the markets will adjust. With covid behind us the supplies are normalizing and this kind of price gouging is unacceptable. People are being forced to pay more money for rent, housing and the credit terms are getting longer to pay for high ticket items. Shop around for the best deals, join a credit union and don’t buy more than you can reasonably afford. Mass production is supposed to yield lower prices, but this is just insulting that concept.
