There's a right and a wrong way to thin the fell (also known as 'cutting the fish' - for no good reason that I've ever discovered...)

Cutting the fish...I guess that the removed sections resemble the Icthys symbol, minus the fish's tail. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

Great to see you back on “air”. Love your work, Sir. Watching you work almost makes me wish I was in a highland Regiment instead of an Armoured one. All the best to you and I look forward to your next video. Cheers!

Thank you for your kind words! It's been more busy than usual here at the 'tartan coal-face' - too busy to get a proper beard trim, as all can see...

Robert MacDonald, Bespoke Kiltmaker No Sir! Thank you! I have learned so much about kilts and my Celtic heritage, and of highland units in the CAF because of you! Thank you so much for your channel! Cheers!

@@justanothercaptain6566 And that's barely the tip of the iceberg! The highland (and other) regiments of the Canadian Army are an intrinsic part of Canadian heritage and culture.

Robert MacDonald, Bespoke Kiltmaker So true , Sir. Even my Regiment, The Ontario Regiment (RCAC) when it was first formed in 1966 was originally the Volunteer Highland Rifle Company of Whitby. Unfortunately our tartan has been lost to history. It’s why I enjoy your work so much. It’s good to know that other Regiments will not suffer that fate. Thank you Sir!

@Robert MacDonald, Bespoke Kiltmaker I wonder if "fish" is the Anglicised form of a Gaelic word.

"fesit" refers to fescue. It could be that it resembles the tip of a blade of grass.
