I really needed to see this up and close. Thank you very much.

Robert; In your years of kilt making, have ever had an ‘Ah sh*t” moment and make an accidental cut?

I've come close....

for one example, I was mentoring a friend who was making his first kilt - I was horrified to learn after the fact that he'd reduced the kilt (ripped along the length of the tartan to reduce it from nominal 27" to the finished length - which is usually somewhere between 21" - 23") along the 'good' edge, leaving the 2nd-best edge to be the lower edge of the finished kilt. it disturbs my sleep to this day...and in consequence I've never made that mistake !

Are those Wilkinson shears? They do sound lovely!

Yes they certainly do sound lovely ! I wonder if tailors listen to recordings of shears slicing through fabric instead of gentle ocean waves or forest sounds to destress .?

@@rickmoore3730 to tell you the truth I quite often 'dry fire' my shear just for the sound and feeling them in the hand. There certainly is something special about the whole thing.

You left your scissors on the fabric at the beginning. Should follow your own advice. :D

har har...I was wondering how long it would take before someone - smugly-judgemental or otherwise- noticed that I had done that...
