Shapiro stole Peterson's Kermit-the-Lobster throne. It's hard to make fun of Peterson when you honestly feel bad for a guy once you start realizing, 'wait... Oh gosh this poor man is just kind of a dolt being abused by a creepy daughter he loves a lot who forces him to eat a ultra unhealthy diet and go get medical care in one of the worst places to get medical care in the world. Who's been suffering with drug addiction for years.' Sure he's wrong, rich, and espouses bad opinions. But man I wanna give the weirdo a hug. Luckily, Ben Shapiro has so far expressed an amount of humanity about equal with that of a wire armature. Not even a puppet, man. Puppets, even without hands in them have HEART and SOULS. Dedication put into them. A wire armature is just a framework you use to later make something that you threw together in ten minutes and will probably be angry you made badly as your sculpture has a weak spot.

I think he means just more clothing expression and apparel categories geared specifically towards men like there is geared towards women, not just men needing to wear women clothing for that to be true. All neutral is boring, and men are uncomfortable with clothing meant to be for females. So let's add more expression for men. It's only fair for a reasonable compromise 🤷🏾♂️.
@ArtThingies3 жыл бұрын
@@KatSpicert male fashion is only "neutral" because women have been willing (and allowed) to wear it for so long. Sure there are pants and shirts designed with women in mind, but those are just female versions of formerly male clothing. There are also skirts and dresses designed for men.
@KatSpicert3 жыл бұрын
@@ArtThingies Nah, I meant neutral as in unisex type of clothing, for both. I think male fashion is actually pretty distinctive for the most part, but there's not as many distinctive things targeted specifically for men like there is with women. But what examples can you even give for dress and skirt like things designed for men besides a kilt? I wanna know. Of all my life as a man, I'm yet to see that shit.
@blarg24293 жыл бұрын
@@KatSpicert Unisex clothing was not always a thing that existed. It used to be that women were obligated to wear explicitly feminine clothing (blouses, dresses, skirts etc) and men were the only people wearing pants. The idea that a piece of fabric doesn't have a gender attached is relatively new. That said, I don't disagree with your assessment of the state of men's fashion, it's just that unisex clothes are literally men's clothes that we've agreed are no longer just for men. That's the historical fact of the matter. Also, if more men crossdressed (specifically in a non-sexual way, I mean), that discomfort would fade somewhat. I'm not saying that the ideal solution is for all people to wear women's clothing, just that breaking down the binary a bit more with regard to fashion would be a good thing to do. If there's a demonstrable demand among men for those attributes that set womenswear apart from other clothing, the market will eventually respond, and in the meantime it's only truly women's clothing if women are the ones wearing it, no? Lastly, please don't refer to women as "females"; it's dehumanizing. Since you don't do it consistently I'm sure it isn't malicious, but it bears pointing out even so.

I'm so unbelievably sorry. Unfortunately, because chronic conditions predominantly effect women they're seldom taken seriously in the medical world and even if they are; they're usually directed towards the better treatment of men and never take the female body and its differences into account. The excuse is that "women's hormones fluctuate too suddenly" to get any real results, but it's BS. Pain relief wasn't even tested on women until 1994 and many medications remain completely untested so we have no idea as to the efficacy of them. That doesn't include the endless healthcare gaslighting we receive from professional healthcare workers. I literally have Crohn's disease and when I went septic due to a flare, I went to the hospital and told them it's absolutely my already diagnosed Crohn's disease symptoms. A Dr told me "absolutely not", because being a 17yr old female there couldn't be any other reason for my symptoms than pregnancy. Ofc, it turned out it _was_ a flare gone septic, and the Dr snapped at me and said "what do you expect with women your age behaving the way you do?!" When I asked him if he just read my notes he'd know I was previously diagnosed with Crohn's disease instead of lazily taking my word for it and then saying I was wrong or lying because I'm a woman. When I see fellow male Crohn's sufferers it's really sad how well they're treated. Healthcare treats yt men as the default for all bodies and if you don't apply to that standard, you're pretty much screwed. I really hope things improve for your wife. I'm sending her all the strength and support 💖

Fibromyalgia is not technically a disease according to the person who invented it. He claimed it was a cluster of symptoms that they didn’t know what caused it. This was from one of the guy who invented it. That guy think that it might be a multiple other things and calling it real disease rather than an insurance claim willl make it harder to actually solve it. Then there is the matter that nearly all people with this disease were sexually or physically abused (hence why more women have it). The mri studies show that there is an increased Pain and stress result. These kinds of finding are also found in people who are just highly stressed. So I think it’s very real, but it’s more than likely a mental illness or increased pain response brought on by mental illness. I think a lot of people aren’t educated on it. Which is what leads to people saying it’s not real. It’s that it was invented as quick response to get people the hell they need and most evidence points to it being real but also probably mentally related. I don’t know if what I said makes sense.
@Dante32144 жыл бұрын
@@conradkorbol Please be very careful with this idea. A lot of people who have suffered from all kinds of illnesses, physical and mental are NOT HEARD. It's important to take people at their word when they are saying they are suffering. If you don't best case scenario, all you've done is gaslit them and made them feel crazy which can cause people to start to doubt themselves and eventually fall into despair. Worst case scenario, the person that's been suffering with whatever condition for so long snaps and takes their own life or sometimes someone else's.
@conradkorbol4 жыл бұрын
No Name I didn’t actually state any feelings lol. You note inferences one th people who find. I referenced the mri study. I also referenced the study that said a higher portion of these people have suffered abuse. Far more than the population average and above random chance. All evidence points to it being a mental illness. Stress and ptsd also have bodily effects. People with anxiety disorders suffer physical symptoms. They feel extra pain and extra disease. So do hypochondriacs. Once again the primal team that came up with the term was used for a cluster of symptoms and not for a specific thing. It then became a specific thing which is potentially harmful. I then gave my opinion about why people say it’s not real. It’s because, much like mental illness, people think that they aren’t real.
@conradkorbol4 жыл бұрын
Dante3214 I never said it wasn’t real. I said it wasn’t a disease and is more likely a mental illness. Which is an important distinction to make because they have to then be treated differently. I never said it wasn’t real. You will note that it’s consisted extremely bad because they have no idea how to treat it. Medication and physical therapy don’t seem to help. It’s considered to be a treatment resistant disease.

it really pissed me off when that one guy said fibromyalgia is fake. one of my aunts struggles with the pain really badly and misses out on stuff because of sudden attacks. she says she can never feel well rested even after a full night of sleep. and idk, i would rather trust her than some internet man whose only source is "just trust me bro".
@kaixuanjaw3173 Жыл бұрын
Yup it's fake, if there is pain, the doctor can't find the cause. They will say its fibromyalgia But the truth is it's a psychosomatic symptom. The doctor telling your aunt she is having a life long disease that nobody know how to cure is reinforcing that thought, which make it worst. "recovered" from it, what it took is not any drug surgery, just CBT, basically teaching my body to relearn that all those signal is not pain, it's just normal signal. Every single person that tell me it was real is unknowingly pushing me deeper and deeper the sickness, you might be doing that to your aunt too. Symptom base diagnostic is fucking stupid. If you really think about it, if the most throughout scan to the body can't find any abnormality, then the issue is probably not your body having abnormality.

My girlfriend and I were actually talking about women and their clothing choices, as well as bodies, yesterday. I told her about a time when I was younger, and in the military. I had a sergeant who had been pregnant and then had given birth, and after leave when she returned she was obviously not in the same physical shape as she was prior to having a baby. I want to stress that I really cared about this person; her husband and I were good friends, and she had been very much like a mentor for me. I overheard some of the higher ups in the back office commenting about how her pregnancy had ruined her body, and how fat she was. It made me angry, and wasn't the first time I had heard these much older, much higher ranked, men commenting on females in the unit. They would talk about young - YOUNG - women who had just been assigned to the unit, and they did so pretty openly when only guys were present. Women can't win when it comes to their bodies. They are either too fat and get mocked for it. Too skinny and told to eat a cheeseburger. Dress too modestly and have men debating what they look like under their clothing, or dress too revealing and get humiliated when someone either catcalls them or tells them to put more clothing on. It just seems like such a stupid thing to me. We punish them for literally just having a body. And we have been doing it for thousands of years.

This greatly helps me articulate why Conservative humor is so awful. They have, at best, a surface level understanding of political views, cultures, and lifestyles that are not their own. Rather than seeing this as an opportunity to educate themselves and thus broaden the material they can make comedy over, they assume not only that they don't need to understand those other things, nothing CAN be understood. They assume it's nonsense from the get-go, because the nonsense understanding is their only window into the world outside their conservative bubble reality. As such, they see "woke culture" as being inherently humorous. And because they practice the same kind of intellectual sloth in their joke construction as in their approach to alternate world views, they leave the matter as-is. Conservatives have only five jokes, because those "jokes" are just them stating what they believe "woke culture" to be, believing that to be all the joke they need. Other conservatives only laugh at them because they, too, find the straw-man version of non-conservative culture to be inherently humorous. Because they cannot understand the "woke" position, they get confused and angry when audiences don't agree with their assessment and thus don't laugh.
@alexgear9592 жыл бұрын

It's where they punch, but also what they consider to be reality to start with. I recommend checking out the "Half Hour News Hour" if their clips are still on KZbin. It was a Fox clone of the Daily Show, but because it's Fox it was centered around their own false reality they've constructed, and the result is... surreal and very odd. Like, if you step back and think about it, the jokes _work_ in a comedic sense, they just require you to believe in an alternate reality. Like, they mock scientists discussing climate change the way Jon Stewart mocked Fox hosts peddling bullshit.
@mj975434 жыл бұрын
In the case of Carlin, he definitely did aim to "punch up." The problem with this argument, and something that has annoyed me as a fan of his who watched most of his stand up specials, is that the target of the punching up were sometimes people who many leftists (including people in the comments) would argue as being targets of punching down: Muslims, feminists, PC culture people who took language seriously, people who made too big a deal out of the N word, etc. So whenever I see conservatives and non-conservatives alike try to claim Carlin as one of their own I roll my eyes because he was definitely more complicated than that. SO, I think comedy belongs to everyone no matter what because in the end we're all humans on this rock in space for about a second before it's all gone. So why don't we just have some peace and love for each other. Btw I don't side with the conservatives at all, but politics ain't my thing.

Does this apply to John Oliver, Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, Trevor Noah? They do the same thing. When it doesn’t work or it’s factual incorrect they say “it’s just a joke bro”. This happens on both sides it’s not just a conservative thing.

@@onistag you can make a joke like that if you're not a member of the community, but satire is built upon trust that you don't actually mean it. by being a member of the group, the trust is already in place. but if you're from a different group you have to prove you're not a dickhead first cause otherwise no one has any reason to believe you're not being serious. that being said, i don't think this guy was being satirical. i think he's serious and i don't think he's even pretending to use irony as a cover
