So prescient for us but known to those then living under totalitarianism. And that is where we are headed. Sensed this in March 2020, walking around my village and looking at so quickly printed & spread for the cattle to display outside their homes. Rainbows everywhere, for the kids to colour in, as background for Save the NHS (go away and die they meant). Why could they not see it? Why did I see it? I read Gulag Archipelago, One Day.., Cancer Ward etc many decades ago. I studied Soviet Communism (we are all Communists at 18), looked at Nazi propaganda. What I was seeing around me seemed like a reincarnation of these memories.
