What's the famous baseball movie saying ....."if you build it they will come " The same goes for flowers....if you grow them....folks will buy them !!!! You will see. Can't wait to see them all !!! Your daffodils will come back every year so those don't really count....right ? Lol ? I have 2 refrigerators in my home and my sister lives in our poolhouse.....I have put bulbs in every refrigerator!!! Take them out of the boxes and you can shove those suckers in alot of spaces in the fridge 😉

Nicole had a problem with very short tulips this year. If that, God forbid, happens to you, ever thought of offering some arrangements in cups, small vases, or anything else, to maximize the use of as many flowers as possible? I was delighted by Shifting Roots tiny pumpkin arrangements, so little flowers needed for such a nice impression.
@45jessiemad3 жыл бұрын
Yep! I had short tulips last year, I used small Mason jars and sold them. 🙂

@@45jessiemad A Lot, mainly daffs,tulips and hyacinth.You did such a great job as a first year flower farmer,I was not able to sell anything this year as it is my first year, keeping my finger crossed for the next year,trying to get into the farmers market.Let's see, will try CSA too,but was kind of apprehensive about the idea after seeing your CSA video.

How did your ranunculus do last year? I can't remember? My springs get hot so quick I think I'm going to have to presprout them & grow them under hoops.
@45jessiemad3 жыл бұрын
They did ok. I found the ones planted in Late December did best, and I had to protect them from the deer. I think I need to really provide more compost too them. Last year I only gave a handful. So this year I'll pile it on top.
@ElderandOakFarm3 жыл бұрын
@@45jessiemad I waited a little too long to plant mine also, because I was afraid they would be damaged in the cold. I hadn't grown many cool flowers yet... but now I know they can take quite a bit of cold, but don't like the heat! Within about 3 weeks we were in the 80's & I read they'll stop flowering after 70 degree weather!

@@ElderandOakFarm yeah they don't like the heat!! Fall planting and covering with frost cloth is the way to go. 🙂

Amazing. I hope to order from them next year. I have about 2,000 tulips with a total of around 3,500 bulbs mixed all kinds. I wonder if you would do well to grow a foxtail lily? I think I have about 25 different varieties of tulips. I got a lot cause I want to trial them and see how well they do for my area.
