I’m headed out to Rockwell tx from Kansas City on Monday via greyhound. I’m too scared of the planes the recruiter said that’s fine. What do you think about carrying a firearm I wear one like I wear underwear and don’t tell nobody about it or wave it around being cool but was just wondering. Was thinking of leaving it at home until I get a feel of the trucking world but I don’t feel right with out it. Been in some harry situations in my time. Any info on that would be cool. Love the videos and the success you have found.

Well, I am unsure of Transam's policy of carrying firearms but I do know that some jurisdictions like Chicago and NYC have strict gun laws and Transam runs in those areas so I would just tell you to be aware of that. I wish you success bro, let me know how it goes.🙂

@@kellyhoneyfeloncdljourney I’ll let you know, I was suppose to go with Mays up in Tennessee but they didn’t have nothing available until December so I just went with TransAm. Have you ever had your personal body searched by DOT or your personal belongings? Imma felon so I’m not too worried about the laws just curious though if you ever get your personals/body searched at any point unnecessarily.

How's everything been? I know rates are down and loads can be scarce. I hope you're stil thriving.

Yeah, rates have been down but God is helping me. I try to get good load leaving Midwest going back East, then I go upstate NY and get dairy and then come back to VA or NC and then I eventually take cheaper load back to the Midwest and do it all again. Here is some certified good lanes/loads: Reefer leaving KC or Carthage area going east. Apples and cherries leaving Wennatche, WA going east. But to get to this lane one way trips don't pay great to get to Washington state, so might need to get there utilizing two loads in order to get better money. Apples and juicy leaving Buffalo area going to Jersey. Milk/dairy leaving Onieda, NY going south to either VA, NC, or GA, on these loads I would rather go to VA or NC because you got loads leaving Newport News and/or Mt Olive all the time. If I'm in Jersey and want to get to Houston the best way to get to Houston is to first book load to midwest and then get load to Houston. It takes longer and an extra trip but it pays better than a one-way direct load.

@@kellyhoneyfeloncdljourney sounds like you're doing whatever it takes to make things work. I have a local w2 job that I'm not happy with. I have to drive a 53' reefer hooked to a peterbilt sleeper on New Orleans city streets and I'm constantly in risk of getting into an accident.I own a 99 volvo midroof that I've spent a small fortune on and probably would be lucky to get $10k for. The ECM just went out. A new one is in the mail right now. I'm thinking of getting into flatbed. I only bring home 8 or 9 hundred bucks a week now, now I won't have to make much to maintain my current lifestyle. The tradeoff is I'll be on the road instead of being home at night. Hopefully it'll work out. There is something that is completely unrelated to trucking that I'm thinking of going to school for if owner operating doesn't work out. Hopefully rates will pick up. I work at oyster processing plant in MS. You might look into hauling oysters out of South TX if you want to stay closer to home. I've done it as a company driver and there's not alot of BS compared to other reefer loads. Quick load and unload at small or relatively small places. The trucks that come to us are in and out in an hour or less.
