Cory and Chris Lukhaup (the Shrimp King) visited Aquarium Glaser, one of Germany's largest wholesalers that ships to the United States. They import from all over the world and publish the AquaLog book series with beautiful pictures of the rarest fish. Cory found several fish that he's never seen in his life (and now wants to take home). Check out the flagtail porthole catfish, flagtail corydoras, Norman lampeye killifish, brochis corydoras, red cherry tetra, rummynose tetras, angelfish, albino paradise fish, dragon blood or strawberry peacock cichlids, discus, clown loaches, lambchop rasbora, platinum gar, peacock bass, red oscar, dwarf pike, sturgeon, red parrot fish, Apistogramma cichlids, chameleon catfish, haplo catfish, snakeskin barbs, elephantnose fish, Congo tetras, leopard fish, senegal bichir, electric blue ram, watermelon pleco, wormline pleco, Nannostomus sp. 'super red Amaya' pencilfish, sabertail swordtails, and many more.

I`m so happy to hear you say "No one knows best". This hobby has become overrun with know-it-alls that try to tell you what you should and shouldn't have, when they know NOTHING of the person buying/using these things. Another great tour, Cory, Thank you for sharing this with us.

Good call. At best, folks can share their experiences, and point one towards resources for further learning. That seems to be a lot of what I hear from this channel, anyhow.

@@CatFish107 I dont mind when Aquarium Co op pushes ideas or opinions, simply because they show that they experiment and use the items (etc...) themselves. Other channels are so dead set on "you shouldnt buy this" & "this shouldnt be in the hobby", just because They cant/dont want/like it...

Thanks for really opening up the market, Dan. It's been interesting to see the global dynamics and how they compare. I wasn't expecting to learn about the exclusivities breeders and catchers have. I've read claims about tiers in quality and access around the world, how european keepers don't send over their high grade stock to the US, the reputation of czech breeders vs other european operations, or rumors of how catchers can control what they release to the public. It's all been fun gossip. I've been interested in breeding, and your video on your blue flame apistos inspired me. I couldn't find them anywhere at the time, and settled on starting with Blue Hawaiian Moscow Guppies from Red Fish Blue Fish. Live bearers in harder NY tap water seems like a good first step. I also got some blue neocaridinia on the side. The breeding project is on its first month, so I'm anxiously waiting for babies to pop. I think blue fish are underrepresented in the hobby and there is an opportunity for me to supply some to my local market if I can breed more. Unfortunately, I learned that Apisto Agassizii eggs need low ph to fertilize, so going from tap to r.o. would be an additional hurdle to this learning curve. I don't have any specific fish requests, but your Corydoras Eques is stunning, and the Hamburg High-Fin is impressive as well. I always enjoy perusing your latest stock and videos. I'm hoping to acquire breedable, attractive, semi-unique species so that I could one day present my livestock to my lfs. I'm treating this as an introduction to entrepreneurship, a first step to financial freedom, and a pursuit of my passions. I still have to find the next right fish for my NY water, but I look forward to the day I get some from you. Keep up what you're doing, your work has been excellent, and you've opened this hobby up for many. Keeping a healthy population of aquarium raised fish is important, but can only happen if there are people taking care of them. -Cesar

This facility just shows us how far behind the Europeans we ar.e. Yellow labs from the Lions Cove locale are the ones with black fin edges- unadulterated species. Really liked the Corydoras robinae and flag tail catfish and chameleon whiptails were great. With light , you also have to consider amount of yellow vs. white .

I wished it was a more in depth video showing more species. Sadly the video looks like it was made in a hurry, maybe because of heat. Also the camera work was like: glass, glass, tanks, tanks, fish, glass, glass, tanks, tanks, maybe half of fish. Also i've imagined Glaser having a better more clean building, but it looked like it was deteriorating because of the humidity, and the sterrileser was kind of funny. Sorry for my critic opinion, but I know that some videos can't be perfect. I apreciate the care that Glaser takes on the fish and the fact that they have the rarest species possible. I loved all the recent videos from Germany but this one was not really what I have expected but I apreciate that Cory is honest enough to show us everything even if it's not perfect. Wish you all the best and I hope my critic opinion has a positive outcome

On KZbin you can find one year old videos from Hans Harreveld about "Nannostomus spec. Amaya breeding". He tries breeding with females that are not red in color. He writes in the comments that he was successful several times but not consistently. A year ago I also bought 5 red animals from Zoobox. Only five, since the unit price at that time was 50 euros! There were also three non-red colored animals in the entire batch that Zoobox had received at this time. They looked like N. marginatus but had no red spots, fins or stripes at all. I bought them too (50 Euro for N. marginatus, maybe? But I was now addicted...;-) ). Unfortunately, only the males survived. I still have them in a 250 L aquarium and they look great. I have no idea why the non-red colored ones didn't survive. Were they females or a completely different species?

Yes the new Nannostomus, the M and FM are both red but I am sure you will see the difference easily with body shape, and the intensity of the fin color. They have been around here in EU/UK for some time now. I hope you get them in USA soon too but did not Dans Fish already import both of the new N-species some time ago or do I remember that wrong. Cheers, I hope you have had a great time here in Europe. Oh btw I think some guy in Sweden bred both of the new N-species last year but ofc Sweden is a more or less closed market when it comes to pets of any kind cant/forbidden to ship within it,not out of it and it is hard to get fish into that country anyhow. Most Swedes go to Denmark that is a more western style of economy, not socialist/Cuba style. So good for Sweden they have those excellent private breeders. Cheers UK
