@michelewalburn43765 жыл бұрын
@@donnawoodford6641 yeah I think you're right about that. My daddy only told my the good things, but many times he'd be telling stories and then just stop and walk away, or just go silent. I knew he had come across a very bad memory unexpectedly. I used to drink a lot too when I was younger and I always tried to stay safe. I used to drink with some older guys. They were all Vietnam vets. They were the few that could keep up with me and I did drink every one of them under the table at least once. Lol. They were more honest because they'd get drunk and start telling the funny stories, but unlike dad they would keep going because they were drunk. I heard some horror stories. The saddest thing I ever heard was a story my friend Denver told me. He said when his plane landed in the states nobody, not even his mom was there to meet him. He told of people calling him a horrible things and the way he was treated. He said the worst thing he was called was a baby killer. Then he hung his head and bawled. He said that hurt him so bad because it was true. They were ordered to shoot children. The North Vietnamese would put bombs on lil tiny kids and have them run at the troops. If they didn't shoot them the kids would kill them all. I told him he couldn't blame himself. Those children were dead when they started running. Those fuses were already lit. Better to kill them with one clean shot than let them be blown apart. I can't imagine what those men and women go through. I know I couldn't handle it.
