Thrasher is how I learned what SASE was back in the 80s. Stickers were not all over like they are today. The skate shop had a limited amount of them. One little part of the showcase. That was about it.

I don't think anyone else who was a bike 🚲 messenger in S.F. in the winter of 79/80; could deny the motley crew of skateboarders who used the MUNI system and a fast pass as a kind of skateboard ski lift, and handed out the notorious 3 or so page (stapled nonetheless by hand) skateboard news flyer, titled "THRASHER". I would do anything not to have thrown that in the trash now. I almost forgot it was numbered 000.000 followed by a Jolly Roger symbol.

I believe I purchased the first national edition of THRASHER a couple of years later in Atlanta at a newsstand in the mall; when you had to purchase actual magazines to keep up with board sports. I remember thinking that the boy's really made the big time. I really wish that I could have saved all of the various skateboard and surfing paraphernalia that I have ever owned. I also wish I had all of the VINYL that is so rare now. Like the Circle 🔵 jerks, Black Flag,J.F.A. and other obscure skate punk 45's.

He's NOT doing a Smith-this was before Mike Smith. Mispronounced Micke Reyes name, and a few others. SKIPPED ALMOST ALL OF THE '80s when the IMPORTANT SHIT HAPPENED, long before Phelps started writing a few paragraphs a month as a contributor to PRODUCT PATROL. I took the photo of TH in the Pink Motel.
