Once I memorize all this info, I'll be able to really impress my machinist friend. Thanks for the video. I had no idea that there was so much involved in threads on nuts and bolts. I'm going to have to check out my milk bottle now. You found a very useful way to spend some pandemic isolation time for sure. I'm not a machinist, but maybe in my next life.... I never would have thought of putting pizza up in a tree to feed the squirrels.

Great in-depth video. I picked up some new info! I believe vacuum cleaner hose is LH thread as well. It took me a few minutes to figure out the other day when repairing my shop vacuum.

Hi folks, one trick you can use is to cut the threads on a lathe almost, but not quite, to full spec. Then run a decent die along them. The result will be a concentric non drunk thread with the correct thread form. Bit more work, but better result. Less wear and tear on the die as well. BobUK.

I saw a squirrel holding onto a whole bagel in it's mouth the other day in my neighbor's tree but could not take a pic in time! Something you don't see everyday.

In a separate incident, I saw a squirrel drag an ENTIRE slice of deep dish pizza across my yard and 6 feet up a tree before sitting down to a cold pizza breakfast. I've seen one drinking coffee too. That's what the world needs, caffeinated tree rats.

The dog is the cutest. But I can almost not pass a dog without having a pat. Every one is copying ToT with the Steel Karate, but that's cute too. Nearly balked at the pitch/lead of multi start threads, then I learnt something, pitch is Still the distance between one crest and the very next crest.

She is a dog model. No matter what she's doing at the time, you can snap a picture of her and the lighting will be perfect, there's a sudden gentle breeze making her beautiful locks flow, and she goes from gnawing on a chew toy to staring into your soul in a shutter click. The material ninjitsu is pretty widespread now. That's why I figured I'd do it. I've seen blacksmiths, woodworkers, and cooks all doing it. ToT is a trendsetter. I don't know if he invented the gag, but he certainly raised it to the level of art.

Great presentation! except for 2 minor points: 2:40 UN stands for "UNIFIED" not for "unified national". The whole point of the Unified standard is that it is INTERNATIONAL, an agreement between USA ,Canada, Britten and Australia and also with agreement of ISO metric threads. You are confusing it with the obsolete American National threads. 16:40 Thread percentage is expressly disallowed in the standard because there is no agreement on what it means or how to calculate it because it has changed several times leading to confusion.
